Posted in Inferiority Complexs and one's Intelligence
Posted 7 years ago
I completely understand what you are going through. I suffer from the same inferiority complex when it comes to intelligence. I have never been formally educated in my life and I feel inferior to those that have. Whenever I test my IQ it bothers me that I am always just shy of the 130 mark and I struggle with math the most too.
But Nigel is right. You have been given a set of tools when you were born. It may not be the best tools but all you can do is hone them, keep them sharp, use them creatively and work hard.
I know some people with IQs of 135 and above and they struggle too. Some of them can't make friends because they feel everyone is too stupid and therefore suffer from extreme loneliness and can't find a significant other. Some of them never finished higher education because they found it boring and tedious, since everything came easy to them, they never developed discipline and work ethic in school. Some of them are unemployed and poor because they can't decide what they want, because they are pretty good at everything and find most careers boring.
Intelligence does not equal a happy life.
