Makes sense to have warm water in the kitchen, but I had no idea you could get it that hot for tea and such, lol. Usually I just boil it on the stove or with an electric boiler thing

That's some witchcraft right there.

My sister in law bought me some huckleberry rooibos I have yet to try but it sounds delicious.

I go super hard for Arizona zero teas. Like the Arnold Palmer especially but the zero peach and lemon are awesome too.

I had a banana and a muffin top thing. I should eat lunch but the food at my work sounds super unappetizing right now

yeah same, I think the basic morningstar veggie burgs don't really do it for me, but I way love their black bean. So crisp and spicy.

Oooh yeah. I usually use chickpeas in my mix for more heartiness. Black, kidney, and chickpea. It's not totally vegan the way I make it though since I throw an egg in it to help it bind, but that could be replaced with olive oil probably. I should make falafel sometime. My roommate is vegetarian and I've been meaning to make more bean dishes to help her get her protein.

@koneko: that's brilliant, damn.

@tsundererra: That sounds awesome. I haven't had it before! I think some local restaurants have it, I'll definitely have to try it sometime! I definitely haven't seen it at any grocer around where I live though.

@koneko: honestly the only real reason ever tbh *cries*

@athabm: yeah I'm not vegan either, but I love incorporating vegetables in interesting ways into my diet. I like to make bean burgers a lot at home and they're deliciouuuus. Veggie burgers are underrated in the meat eating community tbh. The more veggies the better I say.

@tsundererra: yeah just the sound of a tofu christmas ham is kind of offputting lmao

Posted in Get In the Solstice Spirit: Community Goals Posted 5 years ago

@athabm: Yeah that checks out. I feel like most tofu pretending to be meat is probably weird, especially since most vegans probably don't want it to taste like meat.

Have you heard of beyond meat? I haven't tried it yet but it seems really fascinating. They have "ground" and "sausage" versions. It's supposed to be all plant material, but they make it in a way that biologically it kind of mimics the proteins and other aspects of meat so that you get the same nutritional benefit as you would from meat. I really want to try it but it's rather expensive. I think it could be the future of meat, because it is so much more eco friendly since it uses soooo much less water/resources.

@tsundererra: what the crap I'm jealous, that sounds delicious.

@koneko: Haha yeah! I was like that for a while but decided to let my hair grow out natural since I was hoping to be job searching, though I'm still at the same job that allows color, so maybe I will just do it! I'm feeling inspired, lol.
Actually, my dream color is like a slate gray. Dunno if Ill ever be able to pull that off though.

@athabm: reminds me, at christmas my sister in law who is vegan, had a Tofurkey roast. It had like a vegan gravy with it as well. It looked and smelled pretty good! I was gonna try it but I was too full by that point. Looked pretty quality though, not squishy or gelly.
