@Siron: Bevrijdingspop is also always fun!

Jorus, the oldest dog, doesn't really put on a puppy face. He likes you or not and threats you as such. The smallest dog, she does put on a puppy face and not a lot of people can resist that.

People in the neighbourhood know her and don't even chase her anymore. They usually sit down on their knees, talk to her, hoping she comes over.

@Siron: 5,000 people or more, makes a town a medium sized town here

@Siron: I already helped with Bevrijdingspop Haarlem a bunch of times. I could stay over at a friend's house and work until the end (after cleaning up and a small barbecue).

My landlord used to have a dog but doesn't want to get another because he's too old for it. He still likes dogs, especially when they are calm and don't just jump up at you.
When I have my brother's dog, like now, she doesn't have a say in anything and walks around with me calmly. She is a lot wilder when she walks with my brother.
My smallest dog is an escape artist. She usually goes to the end of the neighbourhood, to my brother, a neighbour with a dog or an old lady who lives at the end, just to say hey and play a bit (or cuddle with the old lady). One time, she went the other way, to a busy road. A neighbour and me chased her, but she is so fast. A local cop tried to help, what made her run faster. When we got her, he asked if they could borrow her from time to time to practice running and chasing on her.

@butterfly: you should see us during events. Some threads are hard to keep up with then.
And yes, that (the triple posting) is an actual rule.

Country for sure. When I'm in a city, I want to go away again soon (how long it takes depends on the city).
I live in a small neighbourhood in between 2 town. One of them has 3,000 people living there, the other has less than 300. There are 3 small neighbourhoods attached to each other and we know each other. I know everyone of the 44 houses here (and their families most of the time). I also know a big part of the other neighbourhoods and the people in the 2 towns.
When I need something I can't get in town, there are 2 busses every half hour to 2 cities and that takes 20-30 minutes to get there. I can also be in Amsterdam within an hour.

@Siron: not all festivals do that. Some only give you a free lunch.
Bringing this over from the other thread:
A lot of people think he bites, until I explain to them about the dog's bad eyes and desire to get food. My landlord is 85+ and he loves it. He can also walk around freely in the neighbourhood, while other dogs can't.

@Angelus: yes. I don't kid about things like that.
@vengeance: oh how I wish...
@Another Movie Addict: how old is he anyway?

Posted in The sanctuary Posted 7 years ago

@Another Movie Addict: Ozzy does. It looks very... special
@vengeance: nah, I have 100+ rubber ducks especially for days like these. Just have to tie them together and I can float away.

Posted in The sanctuary Posted 7 years ago

@Another Movie Addict: do you also lay down flat on your belly and then try to run away when you see a man?
@vengeance: oh look, it's my house, somewhere under that big cloud

Posted in The sanctuary Posted 7 years ago

@Angelus: my cat prefers women to men. He thinks men are scary...

Posted in The sanctuary Posted 7 years ago

@Another Movie Addict: erro again
@Angelus: I kid not. He has a serious thing for women with blond hair. No matter if it's a neighbour or a jogger, who will try to keep up with.
Food also helps with making humans human friendly.

@Angelus: my dog is 16 and his memory isn't too good anymore either. Some people, he just doesn't remember no matter how many times he saw them. Others, he remembers after seeing them once. Mostly people who give him food, cuddle or women with blond hair.

@Siron: I have a 16 year old Australian Kelpie, a mini-labradoodle (without the curly hair) and my brother has a German Shepherd. I'll post some pics for you tomorrow. I'm on my phone now.
The Kelpie, Jorus, doesn't see to well anymore. When he sees a hand near his head, he assumes he gets food. Doesn't matter if and what you have in your hand.

@Siron: I just saw it so I had to share.
There aren't too many festivals around here.
