Decided to change things up here. RIP.
Feel free to continue posting.

Welcome to Mama Bloo's Kitchen, a cooking-themed hangout! ♥ This was my original idea for a hangout, but I didn't think that anyone would be interested... OTL But then I was like... AH, OH WELL! Someone must enjoy discovering new foods and recipes just as much as me! Previously, this was a hangout themed around fashion.

This thread is for people who like to cook, discover new foods, or eat! (Or just a friendly place for anyone to be!) Please feel free to share any new recipes you find, meals you've cooked/prepared, or any food pics that you take and/or are drooling over! Feel free to tell us about your day, that silly thing your pet did, or anything that you just need to get off your chest. c:

I am terrible with fashion and dressing myself, but I LOVE seeing fashion and how everyone else dresses. Which is probably the main reason I adore avatar forum sites. One of my favorite styles is probably goth, but steampunk and renaissance are a close second. If I could, I would love to be able to wear gothic renaissance style for the rest of my life, but I have to work in normal society and most people frown upon steel boned corsets.

I like drawing fashion designs. Even though I do not know too much about fashion itself, lol. I just like making the clothing. Still need to make some of my own designs to wear, though it would be better if I were in shape first.

Aello - Those are all great styles! I love them a lot myself. Yes, we should just wear what we like and say F social standards! ^_^

@aellotyphoeus: :D Renaissance fashion is amazing! It's so detailed and beautiful. ♥ I actually wear a steel boned corset as I waist train. :3 There are many ways to hide one under your everyday clothing.

@dragoness129: Oh, really? I would love to see what kind of things that you come up with! :D

@b l o o: Not so easy when you've already got huge boobs. Corsets tend to make them even bigger. And given that I sit at work, I sometimes get shelf boob in both a fitting over and underbust. It kinda bites.

@dragoness129: I need some of those designs. In real life, and on Voltra!

Ah yes. Big boobs can be troublesome. I know the struggles.
Thanks! I need to see if someone would be willing to make my designs and pay me for them, lol.
I have made some of the earrings, but I lost my kit and all the beads I had for them when we had to move and loose a lot of items in a storage shed. T_T

@dragoness129: Oh that sucks. Loosing stuff in a move is the worst. Also, you should see if you can learn how to make your designs for yourself. I mean that's how most designers get their start.

Yeah. I did have a sewing machine at one point. That is also one of the things I lost sadly. Makes me reluctant to buy anything else because I wonder if I will end up having to lose it as well. The storage shed situation was very rough. Sadly we could not pay for it and had no where to store the items. So we could only take with us what we could fit in our small car.

That's terrible. Storage units are so expensive. We had one for almost a year it was almost $200 a month on top of our rent. It was insane. And they make smaller sewing machines now a days. Even a small one would be handy, but if you can hand sew you can start there. As long as you double or triple stitch, it should stay and be durable. It may just a take a little longer.

Yeah, that's about what we were paying, if I remember correctly. Yeah, right now I am too addicted with being online, so I would prefer to sew it by machine. When I get one eventually. I also have to save for more fabric. I can't find the right type I want to use. Most of what I find are more for crafts rather than clothes.

@aellotyphoeus: They actually design corsets for people with larger busts - it's just something that you have to specifically ask for or look for when searching for the perfect corset. They are designed to add a more "slimming" effect to your bust and waist. (I would like to point out that they have to be proper corsets - not costumes or lingerie as these are usually not as good for women with larger busts who want to minimize or just not have a giant rack, lol.)

There's also something called a waspie, if you haven't heard about it, and it has an even shorter line than an underbust. I wear waspies because they sit lower (farther away from my boobs) and - personally - are very comfortable.

This is my waspie. Probably not safe for work simply because it's a girl in a corset, so... XD;

I think one of the things that might throw off larger breasted women is that by minimizing your waist you are already making your bust appear even larger. > u <

@dragoness129: Hey, those are really cool tops! :D I agree that having those for our avatars would be awesome.

The waspie sounds pretty cool.
Thanks. Might suggest the designs to the artists sometime or if they hold any contests for item designs. ^_^

@b l o o: I've actually researched waist training a lot and have several steel boned overbusts which do house the girls really well, and a couple underbusts that do not push them up too much. The issue is that when I sit down everything shifts. If I didn't have to sit all day at work it would be fine. Another issue is that the friend that was getting me into it, was not exactly as knowledgeable as she thought she was. I wish I could afford an orchard corset one at this time.
I might actually be able to if I knew what to save for. If you've got suggestions I'll take them. I'd like to look at getting into it for real this time.

@aellotyphoeus: It's possible that your corsets don't fit you well. When you sit there shouldn't be much shifting of anything. If you have a long torso, then I suggest getting something with a short hip rather than a long-line corset, or if you have a short torso then I suggest something more of the length of a waspie. If you're wanting a overbust (because they are more comfortable than wearing a bra), then you may need to get a custom made corset simply because off-the-rack corsets aren't going to provide you with enough room (thus getting the uncomfortable boobs-in-your-face look). You may also want to look for a corset with gussets. I personally feel like overbust corsets are a real investment because you need to get one that really fits your body to get the most out of it.

But anyways! How are you? :D
