Nathan just nodded.

"Yes." he replied.

"Of course." he told her.

"...." he was then silent, and looked at her with more emotion in his eyes.

"I'm sorry." he apologised.

"I don't mean to be so useless." he told her.

"But... buy just go. Go and be with Jake." he finished, before she saw the effects of her webbing REALLY begin to seep in.

Anya sighed lightly before giving Nate a hug.

"You're too cute, you know that?" She asked before pulling back.

"We'll set up a date of some sort after this. My treat. Consider it my apology for abadoning you here." With that, she left the room, leaving him to his own devices.

He watched her go, and sighed quietly, before laying back on the bed.

The spiders didn't bother him.

Being alone didn't bother him as much as he would have thought.

All he could do was allow the blankness that surrounded him to engulf him.

Meanwhile, when Anya arrived at the Unit, and made her way to the med wing, they were already working on Jake.

And it was clear that it was serious.

There was much hustle and some panic about.

Anya was completely silent as she realised what was going on.

She remained silent as she realised what it meant.

Jake was in serious danger.

And she couldn't shake that she knew what had happened.

she made her way toward where she knew that Jake was. Being a demon, she could feel where he was.

She could also feel how faint it was.

And the shadowy element to it.

She made her way to a closed door, but there was a window in it. She peered through and saw a team working on Jake.

And it did NOT look good.

His wounds were grievous, to say the least.

And it seemed like the medics were having trouble keeping up with the blood flow.

To make matters worse, she noticed that there was a presence around him.

Not just the shadowy presence/element to Jake, but the unmistakable sense of death that all demons could see.

It was Gregory.

Anya was silent, not entirely sure what to make of what it was that she could see, but also didn't really want to try and figure it out.

This wasn't a good situation, and she knew that.

She just hoped that Jake would survive this, and that's all she could do.

He wasn't a demon, she couldn't help, and she knew it.

"Gregory... please don't let him die." She said quietly as she watched what was going on in there. She seriously considered having some of her spiders go and help.

But she couldn't shake the that shadow element to him.

that wasn't natural, and she knew it wasn't good.

As she watched, it was clear that Gregory wasn't making any moves towards Jake.

If anything, it seemed like he was watching over the reptilian.

She then saw him look at her.

His expression was worried... but there was also a little reassurance to it.

However, there was a sudden look of surprise and shock to it.

And he seemed to be looking behind her.

It was about then, that Anya heard her name.

"Anya!" The voice was shocked, surprised, and alarmed. When she whirled around, she briefly saw the identifiable red hair of Hazel, mere seconds before she realised what she was looking at.

There was a monstrous shadow standing there, and it wasn't long - barely a fraction of a second - before it reached out to her.

The long fingers entered her head, and she froze. Completely, utterly, for about five seconds before a scream was torn out of her. It was blood curdling, pain filled and shrill. It wouldn't be hard to believe that it was audible throughout the entire building.

At the very least, it had been heard throughout the entire medical wing. And people were immediately rushing to where they'd heard it... only to find Anya collapsed onto the floor.

"What the!?" one exclaimed.

"Miss Hazel!" another said to Hazel.

"What happened?" they asked her.

"Do you have any idea?"

Hazel was silent, taking in what she could see. There was a shadow surrounding Anya, and she knew that no one else could see it.

"I.... " She started.

"I have no idea." She answered.

"I just... I have absolutely no idea what the hell happened. She's just got a blackness around her."

"....blackness?" they asked in response.

It was at that point the blackness seemed to stop focusing on Anya.

And started focusing on HER.

She could tell.

It was 'looking' at her.

Clearly. She could just tell.

And it looked ready to come right for her.

Which it did. The next thing she knew, it was around her, and tendril-like shadowy claws were boring into her mind.

Hazel hadn't a chance to respond to the inquiry before the shadow turned to face her. She could only truly identify that because of the dark purple gaze. She could see the eyes, and it made her skin crawl.

Before she could properly react though, it came for her, wrapping around her being, the claws digging into her head. She couldn't move, couldn't breathe, could barely even think for a few seconds as she sank to her knees. As she did so though, the long black satin material that she kept around her head fell way, having be slashed by something that those there couldn't see. What they could see though, was a gaze that wasn't entirely unfamiliar to them.

They'd seen that vacant look with another of those working there, several times.

Hazel had an onslaught of something to her mind.

"MISS HAZEL!" one of them yelled.

"Quick, get her to a room!" another ordered.

"Right!" was the response given.

They then started to scramble to get her help, but there was one there that knew there was little they could do.

And he couldn't say anything about it.

"Damn it." he cursed.

"I hate this." he growled to himself, as he continued to watch over Jake.

Hazel was silent, completely silent, borderline unresponsive to them trying to shift her from the floor to where it was that they were directed to take her. Overall though, she didn't seem to be aware of the world at all, and her stormy ocean blue eyes were darker than was normal. They were also more desaturated, far less blue to them than usual.

Something was going on, but it wasn't possible to tell what.

There was definite silence around them as they watched the crowd. There were several at their feet in various states for the moment. Some had their brains shut down, while others were physically torn apart.

It was a carnage, to an extent, in that one room, and they had been given permission to be the punishment that the one in charge of the place deemed necessary.

"......" he was silent, before letting out a low whistle.

"Wow." he said.

"That... that is certainly something else." he commented.

"You truly are a master of all sorts of abuse." he said further, looking at one whose brain had been totally ruined, and they were now a blank shell. He then looked at on that had been torn apart... literally.

"Nobody would guess the same one is responsible for both." he went on.

"...which I suppose is the point." he then mumbled further.

They were silent, looking towad the one that was there.

"It is my specialty." They stated.

"Now, what do you want?" Followed a scouple of seconds later as they looked Azari from head to toe. There was a sadistic hunger to their gaze, from the body of his sister. It was something he was used to directed at others, as his sister had proven that she had a bit of a sadistic streak to those that pissed her off, but it was never directed at him.

Azari flinched when they looked at him, and he resisted taking a step back.

"...nothing." he said.

"I was merely sent to check on how things were going." he told them.

"...it's good thing all of these people are... were... useless..." he then mumbled.

"I don't think there's any hope for ANY of them..." he went on.

"Is there?" he asked.

"Or are they all lost causes now?"

They were silent for a moment before laughing.

"I do believe those two over there have nothing more than an increased devotion to the elves mana." They stated.

"However, I cannot say for certain." Followed a few seconds later, some glee to their voice.

"However, they may not be useful any longer."

"....right." Azari muttered.

"Geez." he then said.

"It's so weird hearing those words in that tone come from THAT body..." he commented.

Then, for the briefest of moments, he felt a twinge. A small twinge of... guilt? Sadness? Longing? He didn't know, as it was gone as quick as it came, and he dismissed it as mere nerves.

"Anyway." he mumbled.

"Is there anything you want or would like at the moment?" he asked them.

They were silent for a few seconds before meeting Azari's gaze, theirs sharp.

"I need to go and reprimand a few of those beneath me." They answered.

"I know the agreement was that I cannot go alone. Find someone to come with me." They continued.

"Because I will break the contract to leave on my own if you don't."
