I really do not want to go to work today. The possibility of working alone is higher than I like.
Manager couldn't get ahold of someone else to be on call in case the other one calls out today. I'm hoping that someone eventually picked up. But that's still a higher chance of going solo than I like.
Are there no protocols in place for a situation like that... like, perhaps the manager coming in? Or is it actually acceptable to have a store be run by a single person... on a weekend?
If the manager has the hours for it, then one can come in. But if they have reached there 40hrs, then they can't come in. Goodwill absolutely will not allow you to work over your allotted hours. So sometimes if no one else can come in, someone will have to do everything alone.
Last night I had to do all of the nightly cleaning alone, and I barely got any of it finished. Because I also had to stay in the front for customers. Then have my manager on speaker phone while I counted the till. Plus. At night. Being the only person in that store is creepy af.

So they're not particularly concerned about their employees' safety. That sucks. It sounds uncomfortable.

I'm sure someone will come in, not really counting on yesterday's coworker to come in. Or if she does, stay the whole time.

I hope so. I really do not want to deal with a Sunday alone. Sure we're not open as long today, and it's a Sunday. But I do not want to do a heavy day solo. XD
I don't blame you. And people do seem to be getting out more now that the covid scare is lessened

Not really. Might do some reading when I get home from work, might play some Minecraft. Or lol I might go to sleep early when I get home.
