You gotta @Mention me.
@Saeyra: Ah yeah, you had mentioned eladrin.
Strictly by the way it's written, it's not spellcasting, but we could allow it to count.
But if we do that, warcaster wouldn't be any use to you until you're level 3 anyway.
It gives you advantage to maintain concentration when you take damage.
It allows you to perform somatic components of spells with both hands full.
And it allows you to cast a spell as a reaction, in place of making opportunity attacks.
So none of those things do anything for you until you get your spells later anyway.
You can still do it, if you're okay with that.

@Rallaa: Yeah I figured I won't take a feat later on in the game and instead get stat increases so this would be helpful in the long run. But yeah if I remember correctly the first few levels can go by pretty quickly so I am okay with this :vanora_smile: Plus I think with Eladrin's innate ties to magic it fits well with my storyline.
I'm sorry. It's been quite a packed 2days for me. Baby got super active. I am probably taking the race that has a quori spirit connection. I can't remember the name right now, gotta look it back up.
Haven't decided on class yet. I just haven't had the time to sit And look because busy busy. It's spring break and my daughters are nutso.
You gotta @Mention me.
@Shadami: Kalashtar. They're very cool.
And they have a bit in common with Saeyra's PC.
Her PC, an Eladrin, came from another plane as well.
Though that was more recent. For Kalashtar, it was centuries ago.
The Quori that became the Kalashtar were good-aligned refugees that fled from the plane of Dal Quor, to escape the evil oppression of the ruling faction of their plane.
They shouldn't have been able to cross over though, because Dal Quor's influence upon Eberron was severed entirely by the giants of Xen'Drik forty thousand years ago, after the evil quori invaded eberron in a war to dominate another plane.
But about 1,800 years ago, the first refugee group of 67 Quori came to Eberron by shedding their bodies in Dal Quor to become living beings of psychic energy. They crossed over and inhabited the bodies of willing vessels, creating the very first Kalashtar.
Over the centuries, the Kalashtar became their own distinct race separate from the humans they first inhabited, and all kalashtar are connected to their ancestors. When they sleep, they do not dream, but experience the memories of their quori ancestors.
The evil aligned Quori also figured out a way to get back into Eberron, taking a cue from the Kalashtar.
They did not inhabit willing vessels, but influenced the dreams of eberron mortals to do their bidding, and over 300 years, influenced them into breeding descendants that made ideal mortal beings for these evil quori to dominate and psychically control from their home plane of Dal Quor.
If you'd like, I could suggest a class that would fit well with a Kalashtar.

@rallaa: For my 2 trinkets I chose a wolf figurine that whines when left alone. And a ring that keeps the wearer calm. (metal its made of to be decided yet, trying to fit it with my aesthetics so it doesnt look out of place)
I think my character is all done except the aesthetics like the height, weight hair color and such.
What class do you suggest? I might not go that route xD but it might inspire me. I was going to read over the game rules for the race again to get more of an idea. I liked the little quirk suggestions the phb had.

@Shadami: I would suggest 'Way of the Soul Knife' Monk,
but only if you want to 'lean into' being a Kalashtar.
Kalashtar are described (as a race) as being naturally meditative, and they have a natural aptitude for psychic powers due to their Quori spirits.
Of course if you want to play against type, or if you have some other concept in mind, please ignore the suggestion.

I have never played a monk before. I'm game.
My brother did once and he was the favorite character that campaign because he had some fun with it. XD
Been researching to work on back story honestly.. and on my goodness. I connect with this race much!!
I will try to get my character sheet filled out a bit soon.(Trying to remember.. it has a background square you can fill in correct?)
Been a little distracted though. I cant concentrate on anything much except the fact that in five more hours I should know my babies gender.
This may be silly... But I can't seem to find game stats on a monk of the soul knife besides what abilities are gained at 3rd level and such. Is this one of the take the base class and than just these abilities instead of the base classes abilities?
Okay cool . :) That's what I'll do than.
Did not get baby gender because my bundle closed it's legs and would not show.
Currently recovering from large amounts of PTSD. I'll post when I can, please ping for replies. Things are very difficult for me right now.

@Shadami:
Yeah, Soul Knife is the subclass that you choose at 3rd level.
@Saeyra:
@another movie addict:
I'm planning for the first two level ups to come pretty quickly for you guys so you'll be level 3 by the end of the first half of your first adventure.
Then the leveling will slow down a bit.

Having you as a Voltie would be awesome.
