"Now that the mana has been properly dispelled, it will be gone from everyone else within the next hour." It was the truth, but the question was whether or not he would believe her.

"Even if they don't believe or understand it right away, give them an hour and try again."

"I... well, that explains the mana from earlier that took Vanessa's form." he said.

"That was... unnerving and unsettling." he told her.

"But... with Vanessa's mana gone, everyone will go back to normal?" he asked.

"I... I can live with that." he said.

"I'll HAVE to live with that." he muttered.

"So I assume everyone that had anything to do with helping Vanessa is getting what they deserve, or has already gotten it?" he then asked her.

"There's a veritable demon there, handling the remnants." Terra assured him.

"The mana from Encrae will take some time, possibly, to face properly and fully." She added. "But at least it will fade, and that is a guarantee."

"Now, go on. I'm going to check in with Az and I'll stop by later to see how things are going." she then said.

Sometime later, somewhere around a day and a half, she walked into the entryway.

"Hello," she greeted with a soft smile, and a massively professional tone to her voice.

"I have an appointment with Mr. Sharp." She then said. It wasn't hard to tell that she wasn't entirely sure what the appointment was.

"Ah, right." he said.

"Miss Calder." he said further, looking at a sheet.

"We've been expecting you." he told her.

"You're needed in Sharp's office. Can you navigate it there yourself?" he asked.

"Or do you require an escort?"

She had been about to say that she could manage herself before pausing.

"I've been here a few times, but ... nope. I don't know the path well enough yet." She admitted.

"I would love someone to walk with me." She then said.

"Got it." he replied, as he started to press the button to call someone... just as Illias showed up, knocking at the door.

"Need help?" he asked.

"Eh?" Jake asked.

"I was walking past, heard someone needed an escort. I'm on my way to Sharp's office, so I can take her." Illias offered.

"...sure thing." Jake said, before pressing the button to unlock the door.

"Go on in." he told the woman.

"Thanks." She then said to Jake before heading over to Ilias and looking him from head to toe. She was about to ask something before pausing.

"Oh, wait... you're..... involved with Kiah, aren'ty ou?" She asked after a moment. At his puzzled expression she just laughed lightly.

"I've seen your picture. She's a friend. Well... acquantance."

"I'm her partner in the lab, as well as outside the lab." he chuckled.

"Name's Illias." he replied... before a serpentine reptile emerged from underneath his hair and started to investigate Kalin.

"...and this is Helena." he went on.

"Seems she smells something interesting on you."

"And interesting? Mostly boring in my line of work." She said before pausing and smirking.

"Kiah used to tend for me, so I wouldn't be surprised if she had enough stories to drive you mad." Kalin commented with a light laugh.

"Also wouldn't be surprised if she can still mix a mean drink." She added with a smirk.

"Has she shown you her creativity when it comes to that? She was the best I've had and I hate how she decided to leave. I havcen't found nearly as good a replacement yet."

Illias thought for a moment, and then nodded.

"She has." he told her.

"It sometimes comes out in her chemistry experiments, but she's made up some interesting alcoholic drinks." he said further.

"So it's not surprising that she was a tender." he added with a small smile.

"Ah, here we are." he then said when they reached the receptionist's office. They spoke with her, before going to sit down.

"I just need to give Agent Sharp some papers, and I'll be gone in seconds." he told her.

"Then you can go about your business with him."

'Of course." She said before sighing.

"Honestly, I don't even know why I'm here." She added. "I was called in, but not ... told anything about the meeting."

...and Kalin saw Christopher starting to exit the room.

Their eyes met, and Chris froze when he saw her, and she could see the panic in his eyes.

"...is everything all right?" Hal asked from within the room.

"Oh, Miss Calder." he then said, looking and seeing Kalin.

Kalin was silent, locking eyes with Christopher as she got to her feet. There was a definite distrust there, but no fear. She was completely silent before sighing lightly.

"Everything is all right, yes." Kalin answered after a couple of seconds before pausing.

"Oh, you wanted to do something, go, do so. I... will have some words with this one here in the meantime." She then said, not looking away from the man that was ahead of her.

Illias did so, and Chris just gulped audibly.

"Look, I know this looks bad." he said to Kalin.

"I'll just scram and get out of your hair, okay?"

"Before I sick my sister on this place to find you." She added as a warning. After he'd... very becrudgingly... taken a seat next to him, she continued.

"Why the hell are you here?" She asked, her voice more than a little shocked... and wary.

Chris just looked away for a moment.

"...I'm just... trying to get a life together, I guess..." he muttered.

"My life." he clarified.

He then proceeded to give Kalin a truncated explanation as to what all had happened. What he had done to Vanessa, what she had done in response, how he'd lost everything he had, and who he was, and how someone used their power to give him back everything... and free him from Vanessa's control.

He made sure not to mention it was Terra/Gaea, though. He didn't know if she wanted that knowledge out to many people.

"So... I'm here, now." he said.

"Trying to build up something from the nothing I had most of my life. And trying to stay away from those I've hurt in the past."
