"No." She answered honestly as she returned the embrace.

'They aren't." She continued. "But REne took them to OLA, and you know he's a godsend when it comes to medic stuff. You won't lose your parents yet."

"Even if I have to go and beg Emma."

Sydney just sighed.

".... because the world is falling apart." She commented honestly.

"They're magicians, people will naturally assume they use 'magic'." She continued before sighing, heavily.

"Although, they were hit with mana, so I don't see how that could be the case." She admitted.

"Long story short, I just don't know."

"Easy. Come stay at my place for awhile." Sydney answered.

"You know it's super off the radar. And once your folks are up and running again, I'll get you all to Candentus Lux." She added.

"Pretty much the safest place on the planet, I'm sure."

"Don't worry. I'll make sure you guys are safe. You know I will." She assured him.

"Is there anything at home you feel the need to grab quickly?" She then asked

Sydney nodded before opening a portal beside him.

"Go. Grab what you need to, but move fast." She told him simply before handing him a small orb of mana.

"Use this to go straight to my place. You'll arrive in the basement, mind. You do remember how to get out of that room, right?" She asked

Sydney sighed before responding.

That's... better than I expected. She sent.

Sydney calming locked her phone and shoved it into her pocket again.

She calmly returned to where the others were, and helped to coordinate some of the business there.

After about an hour, she returned home, while still remaining very calm, and upstairs.

"Dare!?" She called, wondering where he was, hoping he hadn't fucked off as she hadn't been there. She was sure the teen was smart enough to realise that she likely would be caught up with some stuff there, though.

As it stood, the only thing keeping her from looking her cool was the fact that she had Darrell there. Someone had to take care of him, and it seemed that it would be her for the time being.

Of course, she didn't know how long she would remain so calm. She'd always had quite a temper, and it was not beyond her to have a personal vendetta against someone, or something.

"Kalin's fine. Worried about your parents, but she's ok." Sydney told him honestly.

"And fair enough on the room. If you want anything else, I'll grab it. I think it might be a bit too risky for you to go back there anytime soon." She added. "Once was enough."

"As for your parents, I heard back from Rene. It's a 50/50 situation."

Sydney just sighed lightly.

"Come on. I recently got a new sushi mat, and haven't had a chance to use it. I think I have everything to do up some. Want to?" She asked.

"I know you likely don't feel like eating, but you do need to eat. If not immediately, then soon."

"Not surprising." Sydney commented.

"Emoptions tends to help someone be hungry. Or kill an appetite." She then said.

"Anyway, come on. Let's go try that out. Also, what kind of Sushi do ytou even like, anyway?" She asked. "I can get most of anything for any type of Sushi, I think."

She stepped up to the door to try and get inside - not realising that she wouldn't be able to - before finding herself frozen in her tracks. When she glassed her gaze downwards, she saw a rune on the pavement.

Someone had done this intentionally to try and get someone. She didn't know who it would be that did it, or was aiming to get, but that was unimportant for the moment.

"You're an easy way to get my traget." they continued. She couldn't respond either. Whatever it was that they did was playing with her dfensive mana, making it quite difficult to do much of anything. And she realised that, as it stood, she was basically nothing more than a living doll. Physically, anyway. She had to do something here though, even if she didn't know what she could do.

She didn't know how she could help, didn't know if she really wanted to, and certainly already didn't like this guy.

She wanted, so badly, to ask why, who, and why her, but she couldn't. The mana that was pinning her in place, was doing so quite solidly. Even breathing was a bit of a task - but not impossible.

..... dammit. she tought, cursing the situation. Both because of who was there, and because of the fact that she knew the longer she was outside, the more danger she sas in.
