"Come. Let's get you some." he chuckled, as they left to grab some for her.

Jaden gulped lightly, as he stood at the closed door in front of him, and knocked loudly.

After a moment or two, his father answered it.

"Oh, Jaden!" he said.

"Come in!" he told him, stepping aside.

"Sydney!" he called out, as Jaden stepped inside and Nico shut the door behind him.

"Jaden's here!"

Jaden shook his head.

"No. I'm good." he said.

"You seem nervous." Nico commented.

"I have news that I'm not sure how she'll take." Jaden replied.

"...I see." Nico responded.

A bit later, Sydney had come downstairs, and joined her husband and son.

"...Mom. I have something to tell you." Jaden said.

"Desiree's... pregnant again." he told the two of them bluntly.

Nico and Jaden were both silent... with Jaden looking frightened now.

"Y-Y-Yes." he stammered.

"I will." he told her.

Nico just sighed.

"I know someone that can do that." he told his son.

"Very professional and clean." he went on.

"It'll be fine." he assured him further.

"And Sydney, at least Desiree has Dr. Calder to care for her." he then reminded his wife.

Jaden was clearly feeling guilty right now.

He was feeling bad for himself, and it showed.

He was also now considering trying to get Desiree to change her mind about carrying.

But it seemed Nico could sense that.

"Don't." he said.

"If Desiree is willing to go through this, don't let your Mother influence you into trying to force her into a decision she doesn't want to make." he continued.

"This is something the two of you know about, and you're both adults. I know you'll carry on, regardless of what happens." he went on.

"Right." Jaden replied quietly.

"I'll... do whatever I need to do, regardless of what happens here." he told them.

Jaden looked honestly relieved now.

"I..." he stammered.

"First trimester." he said.

"I think she's entering the... second month." he told them further.

"Still some time, then." Nico said.

"We're also looking for a bigger place." Jaden then commented.

"Or, well, we're actively and seriously considering finding an actual house with land that has room for two children to run around and play." he added.

Jaden thought for a moment, before his eyebrows perked up.

"Oh!" he said.

"Yes, I DO remember that!" he told her.

"...are you serious about letting us live there, though?" he asked.

"I'll talk to Desiree about it, and if she says yes, then we'll seriously consider it." he assured her.

"But are you sure?"

"Wow, thanks!" Jaden responded.

"That's... yeah, that's an awesome offer." he said.

"I'll talk to Desiree and let her know about it." he went on.

Nico just chuckled.

"Beautiful country, too." he commented.

"Should be a nice place to raise a family."

Jaden nodded in response.

"That's fair." he said.

"By the way." Nico chimed in.

"You know your Mom was serious with her earlier threat." he commented. "Do you want me to make you that appointment ASAP?" he asked.

"...y-yes." Jaden stammered.

"Good boy." Nico responded.

"A man that's scared of his mother is a good man." he said absently.

Jaden shook his head.

"Just... j-just give me the number." he said.

"I'll get you a business card." Nico told him.

Jaden nodded in response, before looking away.

"I... I don't know..." he said, answering her question.

"Jaden, there's no need to be THAT scared of your mother." Nico said. "Her disparaging remarks, her sarcasm, her jabs, her overall bitchiness is just her showing her love. You know that." he added.

Jaden just sighed.

"Chicken Cacciatore sounds good, I admit..." he said.

"All right." Jaden replied.

-Many months later-

Jaden and Desiree had taken Sydney up on her offer (but decided to actually move there when the baby was at least 1 year old), Jaden had gone through the procedure, and the time had come for the birthing. Both Jaden and Desiree had gone to OLA... Jaden being there because... well, he felt he had a responsibility to be there, and everyone agreed.

So that meant that, for the time being, Darrel was staying with his grandparents.

They had received a call from Jaden saying that the birthing had been successful, it was a daughter, she was healthy, and Desiree would survive, easily. They also said that they'd come and visit in about a week, with the new baby, when Desiree was ready to be up and about.

Darrell, Nico, and Sydney were in the den, watching TV, when suddenly Darrell's head popped up and he looked around.

"...Mom and Dad are here!" he exclaimed.

Then, about 5 seconds later, Sydney's doorbell rang.
