He then told her why he had gone to the dorm, the state of the place, what he had found, where he had found Erica, and how.

"I'm going to give a more thorough examinations of the dorm." he said further.

"...but I have my suspicions." he mumbled.

"And they're not good."

She just sighed, heavily.

"Probably the same as the rest." She commented.

"However, I do wonder what it was. As in, do we need to be more wary? It's just outlets that we know of for the moment." She added before pausing. "Or things plugged into the outlets."

"That's what I'm going to find out." Hal replied.

"She was in her bathroom, and I didn't look around in specific, so I'm going to check there." he said.

"See if I can find an indicator as to where this originated." he continued.

"A hairdryer, something else, I don't know." he admitted.

"But I'll return when I find something out." he went on, before he received a call from Levi.

"Yes?" he said, answering it.

"........I see." he then said after a pause, his tone unimpressed.

"Thank you for finding that out. Please be careful and don't touch ANYTHING." he stressed, hanging up.

"According to Levi, there are scorch marks around the light switch in that bathroom." he growled.

"I'll make sure that Erica's taken care of." She then assured him.

"I think you have more to worry about than one lady, sadly." She added

"...tell me about it." Hal muttered.

"It seems like nothing is safe now." he told her.

"We may have to go into a literal blackout mode." he went on.

"Use generators not connected to the main power lines, fueled by mana." he continued.

"..." he was then silent, and then sighed.

"This keeps getting worse and worse."

She was silent before sighing lightly.

".... There are risks with that, too." She commented.

"Hopefully someone can figure something out, though." She added

Aedan sighed as she paced the room she was in. She was currently helping Ilias with trying to figure out what was going on - the best they had come up with so far awas the fact that it was mana based - but there seemed to be walls at every turn aside from that.

It really wasn't something she was enjoying, even if she did like alchemical puzzles.

The problem with this one, though, really was the fact that this wasn't a definitely alchemical thing. She was just approaching it as if it was, because that was where her knowledge was.

Abandoned formulae were scrawled out on the whiteboards in the room, and they all seemed to lead nowhere. Just the walls they'd been constantly hitting.

"Damn it." Ilias muttered.

"This isn't real." he said.

"There's NO way ALL of these have failed." he went on.

He was then silent, before looking over towards the pacing Aedan.

'...taking its told on Aedan, as well...' he thought.

He then looked at the equation that had gotten them the closest, and tried to see if there were any variables that could be altered to produce a more favourable result... but nothing. No matter how hard he concentrated.

"I don't get it." Aedan said, it wasn't hard to tell that she was frustrated, at the very least.

"I don't even know what it is that we're hitting." She added befroe sighing.

"This seems to be outside of my know how, and I wish I could help more than this. If anything, I'm just repeating the same things over and over."

Ilias looked back at Aedan as she said what she did, and grabbed at his hair.

"But these SHOULD be working." he said.

"Yet every single time we try to put it into practice, it fails." he went on.

"This makes NO damn sense." he growled.

"And more and more victims are piling up while we beat our heads into this metaphorical wall." he said further.

"...or so I've heard. I don't dare see what's happening in the medical wing." he admitted.

"How's Kiah?" She asked, ehr voice curious.

"Wasn't she the first?" She asked. "... I haven't seen her since, admittedly." She added, hoping to kind of take his mind off of the equations for the moment. Even if just a little.

"...." Ilias was silent for a moment.

"Well, she survived the shock." he said.

"At least there's that." he commented.

"..." he was then silent again, before looking away.

"She's gone catatonic." he then informed her.

"She's unresponsive. Alive, but in a coma."

Aedan was silent for a moment before sighing.

"What the hell happened, I wondered." She knew he couldn't answer that, though.

"How quickly did that set in? I know that youw ere saying she walked with you down to the medwing."

"Couple days, that's it." Ilias answered.

"Didn't take long at all, but that set in and now ..." He trailed off with a sigh. Aedan just made her way over and wrapped an arm across his shoulders.

"Kiah plays with souls. She'll be fine. Doubt it'll be something like this that can take a Fyrane out." She said, knowing she was bad with assurances like this. For all she knew, she'd just make it worse, but she did care for Ilias. She wanted to help.

"......" Ilias didn't say anything more for a moment, but nodded.

"Yeah." he said.

"That's true." he agreed.

"...I still don't know what's happening." he went on.

"I mean, it's clear this is what the mana in the attacks is meant to do, but... what can we DO about it?" he asked.

"It's just... happening. And there's nothing we can do, it seems." he lamented.

"At least it's just catatonia." Aedan then said after a second or two.

"Means that there's a chance for recovery." She added before pausing.

"Although, the whole catatonia aspect... that might actually be helpful information."

Ilias paused as well, before looking at her.

"...oh?" he asked.

"How?" he asked her.

He was a scientist, he was a chemist, but he was certainly no doctor or biologist. He wasn't really too familiar with biological maladies and phenomena, but he knew that Aedan had more experience in it.

And her saying that gave him a small ray of hope. Larger than the one he had before, anyway.

"You think we can work with that somehow?" he asked further.

Aedan just looked to him, having looked away, before smirking lightly.

"Think about it. That's a direct result, right?" She asked, he nodded.

"Is she the only one?" She then asked, having been shut in and researching enough that she was completely unaware of the others. She knew there were others, but didn't know anything more specific than that.

"No. Seems everyone that is being shocked has been suffering the same fate." Ilias answered. Aedan just smirked.

"So the electric mana has anothe reffect within it. Somthing that can cause such a result." She said simply.

"We've been approaching this as if it was JUST electric mana, when it really isn't."

"So... we need to try and analyse the mana itself?" he asked.

"Find out what else is in it?" he said further.

"Maybe find something else... and see if THAT'S what we need to work on..." he went on.

"Hm." he mumbled.

"Definitely worth a shot."

"It could be all we need to do to break this." Aedan commented with a light chuckle.

"All we can do is try." She added.

"Robyn is probably in the medwing with Ty..." She continued, seeming to think of.

"For now, let's just get what we can through, done." She added.

"Do we have any more of that mana sample?"

"...I think so." Ilias responded.

"Let me check." he said.

They'd been working on it for close to 6 more hours straight, and progress was being made. Slim... slight... but it was there. It was better than the walls that they'd been hitting before.

"Hmmm." Ilias mumbled, looking at the reaction that was happening in the container.

"Interesting." he said further.

"Aedan, come and look at this." he told her.

"This colour change is... fascinating."

Aedan looked over before pausing.

"Give me a sec." She said simply before doing what was needed to leave what she'd been following up on.... what was hitting another wall anyway, before making her way over.

"What's up?" She asked.

"Take a look." was all Ilias said before moving out of the way a little so she could see it easier. She paused before taking a look, only to watch it shift from a green, to a red, then to a purple.

"Well... that is most certainly a reaction I've never seen before."
