This is exactlyWell for one thing, the book had the notorious Borgias in it. That family was very well known during the Renaissance. The father being a Pope who had multiple children, and rumors surrounding them about incest and murder. So the evil 'queen' was the daughter of this well known Pope. Book mixed very real history with magic. Which is fine. Iunno it was just weird to read knowing history.

@Another Movie Addict: yes, I'm familiar with the Borgias. That does sound like an interesting mix. At least you know history, though, and know where the author was blurring or combining the lines between history and fantasy? (some people wouldn't know)
This is exactlySome of the basics of the Snow White tale was there too. The poisoned comb, the sash tied tight enough to kill, and of course the apple. The dwarves were...Rocks. Which yeah some myths do say that dwarves are made from stone. Anyway the author continues to not like people. So many characters you just want to smack.

This is exactlyNope. All three are separate stories of their own, and it's not really a 'series' in that regard. The only thing each book has in common is that they're retellings of famous fairy tales.

PAGE 100 This is exactlyWell this is my second go with Wicked, and I don't remember caring for it much.

I understand that. I do think I read it several years ago and thinking that it was an interesting take on the story, but not being absolutely in love with it either... that it was a little weird. I don't remember the details at this point
