I also think it would be fun to incorporate a monthly craft-a-long (it's going over well on the other site) where every month we/the crafty members nominate a theme and then everyone makes (or attempts to make in my case XD) something that follows the theme in whatever craft they choose.

@Siipu: There's also this read called throat coat or throat comfort. Anything like that will also helps. It keeps the throat lubricated so any inflammation and soreness goes down faster.
