Stopped by that one Thai place you particularly like. She replied in a text.

Had some extra money, and as I was ridin' by, I saw they have a half off all orders over $70 sale. So... I grabbed a bunch.

About a minute later, she heard his footsteps come down the stairs.

And they sounded excited.

Which matched his expression when he showed up.

"Smells good!" he said.

"I'm famished!"

"Got quite a spread, too." She told him simply as she grabbed some dishes.

"Whatcha want?" She asked, hadning him a plate "Grab whatever."

Levi looked to what she was putting out, and licked his lips... before pausing.

And growing silent.

He then took a step back, and grasped at his head.

"Agh." he grunted.

"Damn it." he cursed.

"Ah, crap... sudden headache..." he muttered further, before collapsing into a chair.

Unfortunately, this usually meant one thing when it came to Levi.

They were reaching out to him.

"Anything I can do to help, Levi?" She asked, her voice curious, concerned.

"Or do you think I should just pack this all away so it keeps and you go get some sleep? I know sometimes that can help."

"If you want." he said.

"Just... hurts." he muttered.

It was bad enough that it would be best for her to leave.

"Sorry." he apologised.

"I need to go." he said, quickly leaving the room.

She was silent before sighing lightly.

"That... was new..." She muttered before packing everything up. Once she was done, she left a note for him stuck to the fridge.

If you need or want me, call. I headed to work to get some headway on that article that we've gotta feed to the papers next week.

Once that was stuck to the fridge, she sighed before heading off, and out.

After a bit, she reacehd the Unit, parked her bike, and made he way inside.

"Hey Jake." She said, approaching the door into the building proper.

"Hey Aly. I wouldn't recommend going in there." He said.

"Sadly, I don'[t have a choice. Gotta get some headway on a thing." Aly said with a sigh. "Wanna let me in?" She asked.

"Hey, I can't stop you from going in, but fair warning, it's a damned nuthouse in there." was all Jake said before pushing the button to let her in.

She mad ehe rway in, and started to head through the hall, aiming to go up to the media department.

As she walked, she heard arguments.

Fights.

People at each others throats.

Lonely people lamenting it.

It seemed everyone was breaking down and falling apart.

When she got to the media department, she found that people there were in bad spirits, and she found Emerald there, checking something on a computer.

She guessed it was because he was doing more research about their world that he found himself in.

Aly was completely silent, and stunned, as she made her way through thr halls. As she saw emerald, she sighed and approached.

"yo." She greeted.

"Any idea what the hell is going on?"

"No clue." he said.

"It's frightening." he told her.

"Very scary." he went on.

"Makes me wish I was back home. Away from here." he said further.

But before Aly could say anything, someone shoved past her.

"Outta the way!" they barked.

"If you're gonna stand around and be useless, do it elsewhere!"

Aly hit the table she was by, harshly.

"Hey! Watch out!" She exclaimed as she straightened up.

"Seriously. What's your problem, Felix?" She asked, concern to her voice.

"Wait... did Trish..." She trailed off, not wanting to say anything more. She knew that his sister had been in dire straits, and very likely not going to be alive for much longer.

The man turned immediately, and snapped a glare at her.

"Don't you DARE mention her!" he snarled.

"This is MY business, and mine alone!" he said.

"You can just butt out and shut the HELL up!" he barked.

"Stop!" Emerald yelled.

"Stop it! Stop fighting! There's already too much going on!" he said in a frightened and almost cowardly tone.

"This doesn't concern you, you damn alien!" Felix snapped back.

Aly got between Felix and Emerald.

"Hey! Chill." She said, not seeming to care that he was a decent bit larger than she was, both in terms of height and stature.

"You know I care." She added, her voice softening a bit.

"Let's talk, Felix." She said, holding a hand out. "Please? You know I care."

Felix looked at her, and it seemed like he was getting angrier and angrier by the second.

"..." he was silent, before literally slapping her hand away.

"Fuck. Off." he barked at her.

"Talk to me again, and I'll see to it that you do NOT have a job here." he threatened her.

He then turned, and started to storm away.

". . . . That... was actually rather alarming." She commented before turning to face Emerald again.

"You ok, Em?" She asked, concern in her voice.

Emerald was now hunched over, his hands buried in his hair as he clutched at it.

"I want out of here." he said.

"I want to go home." he continued.

"I want to go home, I want to be away, I'm scared." he rattled off.

"This is scary, this is this world, this is awful." he went on.

"I want to go home, I want to go home, I want to go home..." he then said on repeated, almost rambling to himself now.

Aly didn't say anything before just approaching and wrapping her arms around him, as she was sure he needed.

"I know you do." She said. "But we don't have the tech to send you home yet." She added.

"Where's your sister?" She asked before pausing.

"Do you and her maybe want to come home with me? Get out of here for awhile?"

Emerald seemed to freeze in terror when Aly touched him, but he looked over at her.

"....I... I..." he stammered.

"She's... she in the dorm." he said.

"The dorm, yeah." he repeated.

"And... and... and home? With you?" he then asked.

He paused for a moment as the thought went through his mind, before nodding.

"I need to get away from this place. It's scary. It's frightening. This world is frightening." he continued.

This was a new side of him to her... and it was alarming to see him acting this way.
