Oh I adore Howl's Moving Castle, it has two other books in the 'trilogy' and I use that loosely. Since Sophie and Howl only have like a cameo roles in the other books. Never did finish the third book. But I've read other works from Diana Wynn-Jones, and she loved making charmingly ass holeish characters. Like yeah Howl is a piece of shit, but it's fun to read him being a piece of shit.
But Gregory Maguire, it's not as fun reading the characters being terrible human beings. I bought three of his books recently. Next I'll be reading his Mirror Mirror, which I really liked the movie. Then my second attempt on Wicked.

I didn't really go in with any expectations honestly. This is the guy who wrote Wicked, which I had a hard time getting into. He seems to really enjoy making characters that are hard to like.

Don't know who has the worst unlikable characters. Him or Diana Wynn-Jones (author who wrote Howl's Moving Castle).

Spot for new books is on hold til the new wall shelves get here. To make more room for my books, I'll be transferring all my figures to the new shelves. Have the bookshelf for all my books instead of being for everything. I could start moving my dvds around.
