That's what we've been doing. Watched Onward the day it came out, and then watched The Spiderwick film.

@Kozi: It's very delicious, more so than I thought it was going to be. It reminds me of a curry dish I like to get at one of my favorite Asian food places in town. All I need now is some ramune.

Like there's a place for body count movies, I like those when I'm in a bad mood and want to watch stupid people die from being stupid. But when I want to be scared? No, I need something to matter. If nothing matters, then it's not scary. For example I love the Banana Splitz horror movie. It's not a good movie, and it's definitely not scary. But it's at least fun.

Which is why I adore the fancomics from some of them. The comics do a lot of fun rewriting. Granted they tend to change the creepypastas from straight horror to horror-comedy, but I prefer that anyway. The funny moments make the lows more gripping, and they make the characters not stupid ass holes. Nothing worse than horror with throw away douchebags. It's scary when you like the characters and you don't want them to die.

The problem with a lot of video game based creepypastas, is that they can very easily be debunked. Which takes the fun of being scared out of it. Plus some of them are written so very bad. Like My Immortal levels of bad.
