The silence was uncomfortable, but in it she was able to think about other things that were on her mind. In the kitchen, The sink had stopped and her father's footsteps were heard coming down the hall. She only hoped he wouldn't do anything foolish. By sheer luck, her father stopped outside her room but continued on and she heard his door close. He was going to bed, they were safe. The house was drowned in darkness as the lights were off now, and it fell silent. The entire neighborhood was sleeping now, just as she knew they had to.

'No work tomorrow. Call in sick or something. Work on laundry.' She thought to herself. His compliment brought a smile to her face, "Thank-you." She whispered quietly. Kaneko did not move, not wanting to disturb Allen. He needed someone here with him. Even if he had said he was fine, he clearly still wanted her to stay even if it was just for a short while. Her hand nervously made its way to his hair, her fingers lightly running through it. It was something she knew could help anyone relax. It was one of her favorite memories from her mother.

Kaneko wasn't sure it would be wise to leave. Even though he said he was okay, he dind't sound it. Though, no one sounded okay after experiencing any sort of pain. Maybe some alone time was what he needed? Whenever she felt upset or just not okay, she liked to retreat to her room and just take some time to feel better. Sometimes being alone wasn't always a bad thing.

Her hands now rested on her lap as she sat back on her heels and looked at Allen. He was dismissing her, she did say she'd leave if he asked her to, and he was asking her to right now. "Allen...are you sure you want me to go?" She asked and glanced over at her door then looked back at him. She could hear the sink running which meant her father had finished his dinner and was washing the dishes for her. How nice. "I can stay if you want me to, but if you really want me to go, I will." No use staying if he wanted to be alone. She knew it must be annoying, being asked all these questions. She just wanted to make sure it really was what he wanted.
