@Totalanimefan: True, though sometimes things you just don't expect, like mac & cheese or mashed potatoes, even have meat broth in them. She's had to stop eating her favorites at multiple places because it makes her so miserable.
I had about a year where meat was hurting my stomach, but I could still eat tuna and turkey (but not chicken). Eventually it went away for me, though; she's not been so lucky. She can eat tuna though at least.
But yeah, she's pretty danged careful about what she orders, now. And that's understandable, onion is used as a flavoring in darn near everything so I can definitely believe that's hard to avoid!!

Meat products are in damn near everything too, as a friend of mine has discovered the hard way multiple times (meat gives her horrible stomach pain). Even many "vegetable" products like soups.
