I'm currently scrambling to finish a whole term worth of notes in my math class because evidently I'm worse at math than I thought. If I had done these notes when I was supposed to I would have passed the midterm but obviously I'm not smart enough to do even a minimal amount of work so pfffffff here I am. It's dumb that I gotta turn them in, though. The notes are for me, so I don't know why it's required to turn them in.

Hanging out here for the week long tumblr protest. I have such conflicting feelings about tumblr. On one hand it's basically how I discovered a good chunk of my identity, 70% of the userbase is pretty tolerable, and with the xkit extensions holding it together like so much craft glue on a popsicle stick art project, it's pretty alright. On the other hand, if you take away xkit you're left with the recent censorship and the other 30% of the userbase that is either bots or unpleasant people. There are tons of alternatives cropping up here and there but none of them have quite the same layout or intuitive design and because everyone has moved to a different place it's like I can't find any of my favorite artists or anything. The best I've got is twitter and I still only use twitter like two or three times a month. I guess this gives me a good opportunity to focus on school for a bit but I mean... UGH. I really hope the protest manages to brute force some sense into tumblr's staff but I can't say I have high hopes. Tumblr feels like it's been on the steady decline since, I dunno, 2013-ish? I've gone through probably more than 20 accounts since I first joined, deleting and remaking for a myriad of reasons, and I genuinely don't know what has kept me coming back all these years. The closest thing to tumblr I've seen recently is amino I guess but people there can be weirdly hostile and art theft is a huge problem and UGGGHHH. I mean, I wanna stick around to keep seeing my favorite artists and authors' content and all that, and I have a writing blog of my own that I feel obligated to continue maintaining, but so much of my day is ruined by meaningless discourse about how immoral it is to like a villainous character or depressing news about politics or natural disasters or global warming and I just. Find very little enjoyment in it anymore, and what little enjoyment remains is dwindling fast because of the indiscriminate censorship of anything vaguely flesh tone. Maybe being logged off for a week will help me find something less draining to spend my time on.

There's this kind of peppermint that melts in your mouth and it's super good, I don't even know what it's called but it always ends up in my advent calendar and I love it.

Posted in Your ideal Pokemon team Posted 6 years ago
Literally just six kricketunes. Or five kricketunes and one kricketot.
No but really, usually when I play Pokemon I try to vary the types of Pokemon I have so I'm prepared to face off against anyone. When I'm not focusing on types then I'm either picking the Pokemon I like the most or the Pokemon that are the most ~aesthetic~. Usually going for aesthetic is not a great strategy for actually winning battles.
So a team I'd actually use would be like

And then a team of all the pokemon I like would be

And then a super ~aesthetic~ team would be

I know you don't like mice/rats so I won't suggest that, although I did adore my own mice when I had them. There's something kind of magical about letting them walk around on you and sniff you. Maybe a hamster, guinea pig, or ferret. Rabbits are good and cute but I hear they make lots of poopies and I personally wouldn't want to clean that up. Basically any rodents (or animals that are like rodents) will be smelly and messy. The good thing about the smaller ones is that they're confined to a cage so you can somewhat contain the smell, but I can't guarantee it. Another thing to consider if you're going with small rodents is the hamster wheel. It's necessary, but you want it to be big enough that it doesn't make them arch their back downward when they run on it and you don't want it to hurt their little feets. Of course there's the matter of having a large enough space for them to be comfortable and if they're biting the cage bars or climbing the top of the cage then it's probably too small. There's also the cost of buying/replacing the bedding material in the cage. Also apparently hamster balls aren't the greatest and I definitely wouldn't recommend using one since you have a dog.
Anyway, sorry for rambling, I'm no expert or anything but I hope this helps. If you get a rabbit then I imagine you won't need most of this anyway.

@kelsey: I understand the texture thing. I absolutely despise a lot of foods because they have a texture I don't like. The boba place at the mall has an interesting selection of things to put in the tea, like these rectangular things called jellies? Those really bother me for texture reasons

There was this book that I read a really, really long time ago called The Serpent Tide that I genuinely don't remember anything about but it was my favorite for a while. The entire Junie B. Jones series is definitely worth reading, I spent years of my childhood reading those books. I also remember really liking Dear Dumb Diary (I guess there was a movie but I never saw it) and Just Grace. I read The Giver in middle school and it kind of changed my life. More recently I read The Color Purple and it was really good. Man, I used to read a lot when I was a kid but I haven't picked up a book in a while. I guess I just don't have the time these days.

@zuzu: The kind that burst are the kind I got! They're strawberry flavor. I'll have to see if the bubble place near me would do a green tea flavor, I wouldn't be surprised if they did.

I recently picked up some stuff to make bubble tea and finally got around to it. It was pretty simple but I followed the directions on the bag for the milk tea powder and that might have been what went wrong. It says to add two tablespoons of the powder to hot water, so that's what I did. I don't think two tablespoons was quite enough though because it got watered down by the ice a lot and by the time it was done it kind of just tasted like I was drinking water with boba in it. So next time I'll try more tablespoons of the tea powder and maybe I'll just stick it in the fridge rather than adding ice. I don't really have to make it myself if I don't want to since there's a bubble tea shop within walking distance of my house, but I'll be moving soon and I could probably save some cash making it myself. The nice thing about milk tea is how it tastes good even without anything in it.
When I get bubble tea I usually just do milk tea with various different kinds of boba, but I kind of want to branch out a bit before I move so what kinds of bubble tea do you like? I might give it a try!
