@Nephila: Wow that sounds like a real fun time you've got planned out! I would make a nice dinner for everyone but sadly money's kinda tight in my house, so it'll probably just be another night of fake mashed potatoes and turk'y cutlets for me and take out for everyone else.

I'm gonna light a candle for the members of the family that've passed, do you guys do something similar? I'm not religious so I kinda just do it from a point of spiritualism and trying to respect ancestors and whatnot, I'm kind of making up my own traditions lol

@Ariella74: Hey Ariella :) doesn't really matter what you got, just as long as you're having a nice time today, just take time to treat yourself and relax for the day

@Totalanimefan: It's also pretty cloudy here, I'm just hoping things will clear up a tad so I can maybe catch a glimpse. If not, there'll always be some photos online. You doing anything special today? I made some chocolate chip cookies to celebrate and I'm gonna be using a candle I made along with a couple other smaller ones to light up my room tonight rather than using the normal lights

Apparently tonight we'll be able to see Jupiter and Saturn line up in the sky, which I really hope I'll be able to see tonight myself.

This'll sound like me just stroking my ego but the brownies I make from scratch.. oh boy. They're soooo good and pretty much everyone that's tried them has said they think are delicious.
They're perfectly moist and sweet and chocolatey, and I can add whatever toppings and whatnot I want to it if I feel like being fancy about it
(If anyone wants the recipe I'll gladly share it, everyone deserves to try them out)

We make the paper snowflakes and uhhh... paste at least one on each window in the house. We do it because it calls winter to the area so it can balance out the weather between seasons. If the winter is cold, then the summer will stay hot. If everything gets thrown out of balance, we'd end up with the weather acting like it's a different season every day.
Or maybe it's some sort of idea that it tricks some sort of snow spirit into thinking there's already a bunch of snow so there's no snow disasters like heavy blizzards or flash freezes?

@Glume: I guess we could all just start with some basic idea then build up on it? Something like "okay so we could blahblahblah and if we don't then blahblahblah" then someone replies with "oh and then blah blah? or maybe blah?"

Or multiple little ones.
I made a small one in the butter tree thread about the "Smördjur" (literally "butter beast" in swedish) who will drink all your fizzy apple cider and eat all the holiday cookies if you don't set out the butter tree

So I thought: What if we got together to make a fake holiday/myth for the winter season?

Oh no! I almost forgot! Gotta always make sure to set one out or Smördjur will drink all fizzy apple juice and eat all the holiday cookies :viodead:

I kinda have just an inherent deep-seeded hatred for Apple, since they have really shady business practices. So personally I would say go with the Samsung tablet, I've seen really good things about it, but that video Kairu linked is really good and should help with your decision

I'm horribly impatient and get distracted easily so trying to learn a new hobby isn't easy for me. I've been working on learning the bass and practicing my vocals though since a friend and I want to make a band, which takes a lot of focus that I struggle to muster up. Video editing is fun, I just don't have anything to edit that would help me work on my editing skills
