There's something foul about the air here...

@0v7: In your preferences there's a tab for cursors, not sure if that's what you're talking about. As far as I know there isn't a popup panel like what Krita has, but in your keyboard shortcuts you can set different shortcuts to different brushes/tools, so I have specific brushes/tools set to a few keys so I can quickly switch to them when I need to rather than clicking. I also just have my sub tool panel floating in my work area so I can quickly click on whatever I want when I need to

@Totalanimefan: Yeah nintendo has a bit of a low-stock problem... I thought there would be a sale at best buy or something, I think the nintendo site said something about it but I haven't seen anything :(

I would be hunting down a Switch on sale if I had money, but I don't think I'll have enough to afford that for a while, might just have to wait and try to get one for cheaper off ebay one day u-u

My favourite sweet treat seems to change every week lol, currently it's my homemade brownies made from scratch that has chocolate chips and sprinkles added in, and skittles.
I found a recipe that make super moist and chewy brownies that are just 😙👌 and then with chocolate chips and sprinkles? It's a diabetic's nightmare but my dream
Skittles are just fun for when I need something to gnaw on and am fine neglecting the health of my teeth

@0v7:
I used Krita for a short amount of time - and by short I mean I just fiddled with it since one of my favourite artists uses it, but it drove me insane trying to use it with its backwards shortcuts and functions. I also tried the realistic watercolor brushes they added recently which I really liked but it didn't draw me in enough.
From what I can remember:

Right click color picks if you're using a brush or similar tool rather than bringing up the little tool panel
Alt brings up the color picker rather than ctrl
Transformation isn't it's own tool, it's just a function that has multiple modes. By default the scale/rotate transformation is ctrl+t
Ctrl+alt lets you drag out your brush size rather than holding down shift
Ctrl/shift+space lets you zoom in and out
Not entirely sure if Krita added normal clipping layers or are still only using groups, but you can activate clipping layers (they will only show what you paint on it in areas where the source layer is painted on) by clicking on the two ovals icon under the layer mode in the layers panel
Backspace erases everything on a layer rather than filling it with the current brush color, you can fill by pressing alt+delete or use the bucket icon in that top panel

A couple cool features I would recommend checking out:
- That top bar is called the command bar, and you can modify it by right clicking on it and going into the options. It lets you add different commands to a quick-access sort of thing so you don't have to search through a bunch of menus to find something you use a lot
- When you go into File > Preferences > Performance, in the undo section there's a feature called "undo intervals between actions", where you can change how long it would take between actions (brushstrokes, for example), so it will group together actions into a single undo so you can undo multiple actions at once and not have them all clog up your undo history

My tips are just try to fiddle around with things, mess around with how things are arranged, edit your keyboard shortcuts to whatever you'd like, download whatever you need from the Assets gallery (you can find that in the materials panel, it's very handy and automatically downloads and installs all the brushes/image materials/3d models/color sets/etc into your materials panel). I know maybe too much about the program so just ask and I'll probably know what you need, if not there's a whole forum for issues with the program

Edit: Also!!! I hand copied over more accurate gradients from the original Voltra photoshop gradients, since when the pixel guide first came out the there were no gradients for other programs. The psd file Vozzy provided, for some reason not all the info carries over correctly so they're kinda simplified and not accurate. I can make a quick guide on how to save all of them if you want, it's a bit tedious but worth it in the end, I can also make a download for my own gradients, which is in a .clip file rather than .psd.

@Vozzy: I just wanted to make sure this was okay so I can be on the safe side, is it okay if I livestream me making the pieces that I want to include in my application, or should I keep it private like I would anything I else I would make here?

There's something foul about the air here...

@Totalanimefan: according to my sister I slept for about 3 hours after my seizure, hopefully I'm able to get some actual sleep tonight and not repeat today's mistakes again, though might be a bit hard since I can't find my benadryl that helps me actually sleep at night

@xvz: I can't really think of anything that would make the site more "epilepsy-friendly" since there isn't really anything here that would be a problem for at least me. I should probably do some more research about my disorder, there's a chance in reality there would be something but I don't know about. My situation is also a little different from probably most epileptics, mine is caused by brain damage from problems during birth while there's probably a significant more amount of people that were completely born with it written into their genetic code. I really appreciate you caring so much though! Makes me happy whenever I come back and re-realize how awesome the community here is :)

There's something foul about the air here...

Last time I had a seizure was way back in December of last year. I thought I was doing well since I'd gone almost a whole year without having one.
Last night, however, I wasn't able to sleep, and hoped I'd be fine if I just powered through (my seizures are triggered by a lack of sleep). I was ready to start painting my mirrored expression contest entry I'd been putting off, but while I was prepping, I had a seizure.

Some info for people that don't know anything, seizures are not a simple thing one can just walk off, and they're not just triggered by flashing lights. I don't get triggered by flashing lights, and I have only found sleep to be a cause. For a few hours after the seizure I'll be extremely confused, can barely string together a coherent thought, my motor functions are completely shot and I need assistance with moving around and doing basic everyday tasks until I fully recover (which can take a long time depending on how back my body reacts), I'm super super super nauseous, and my body is super duper sore all over (which also contributes to the motor functions being shot).

Thankfully my family is very responsive and we all have a sort of protocol to help take care of me when something happens and everyone was home today so I'm safe now, but it's still a huge bummer since I wanted to use tonight to be productive.

There wasn't an entirely clear point of me making thing, my head's still super foggy but I neede somewhere to sorta not quite rant or vent or whatever, just kinda talk about it and here seemed like a reasonable section. If anyone has questions about epilepsy I'd be glad to answer them. Hopefully I'm feeling okay tomorrow to work on that painting and finish it before the deadline.
