@Another Movie Addict: The plot of A Little Princess can be a bit hard to swallow, especially the more mainstream movie version. It’s just really difficult to believe that her dad finds her magically somehow at the end. Part of her character growth occurs through the lack of him, so it’s kind of a problem plot-wise to have him come back. I looveeeee the costumes, though, and own the soundtrack.

The Secret Garden is also in a miniseries version that is more book-accurate, but I can’t stand the actress they got to play Mary in that version. She does an AWESOME job at portraying how petulant and sour Mary was, but I can’t stand that type of personality. XD;;;

@Another Movie Addict: Well, it probably doesn’t help much that it’s been redone so many times, so badly. At least that one is accurate. XD;;

What about The Secret Garden? That’s another one by France Hodgson Burnett. :3 Is that one any better?
The more mainstream movie has lovely imagery, even if it’s bit less accurate.

@Another Movie Addict: The 1986 miniseries version of A Little Princess is also super good. Extremely book-accurate. Probably one of my favorite things to watch, but almost impossible to find. :/
