@Dread Pirate: I’m lucky I’ve been there long enough that the boss really relies on me. When I moved I said i would commute to work if they could guarantee my hours every week, and she did! It’s still a small independent shop though, so I’m not paid very much because they can’t afford very much, especially since I have the most hours. But I love it there so much! It’s worth it to me to have a job I love even if I struggle a little with money.

It’s so hard for me to imagine the author that was so avid about house elf rights and bloodlines not mattering and muggle equality is the same person I see now.
