"Excellent."
Elaydren pulls out a small booklet that you two recognize as the one from Bonal Geldem's satchel.
Sliding it across the table towards you, the symbol on the cover begins to faintly glow in unison with her House Cannith signet ring.
She opens the journal, exposing the pages to be blank, but after a moment the faint glow of magic reveals that the journal entries were hidden.
Delicate script and line drawings begin to fill the blank pages.
She turns it to a specific pages, studies it a moment, and pulls out a map alongside it.
"The location of the lost foundry is deep within Dorasharn tower. Down below the tower's present-day sewer system. I offer you 500 gold pieces, and the good will of my house if you recover the heirloom and return it to me."
Eldaydren produces a full pouch, jingling with coin. It makes a satisfying sound as it plops onto the table in front of you all.
"I'll give you 100 gold pieces up front so you can outfit yourselves as you see fit. The relic I seek is an adamantine plate in the shape of a seven-pointed star. It has no power by itself, but it is an ancient scheme- a piece of a pattern used by Cannith artificers of old to produce strange items...Recover this piece of history for us, and House Cannith will be extremely grateful. Do you have any questions?"

Everyone keeps close eyes on each other as Astrinos and Rosemary make a cautious escape from the narrow alleyway road.
The air feels fresher on this side, not just because they made it out of that tense situation, but also because they made it to the outside edge of the Mason Tower.
From here they walk along the inside wall, passing open bays and windows along the way.
The tower is squared off this low down into the city of Sharn, and The Broken Anvil sits nestled into the inside corner.
'The ------ Anvil'
There is a visible gap in the sign across the entrance way where it once had golden lettering. If you look closely you can barely make out that the missing word is also 'golden'
Nearby the name sign is a signboard bearing the crest of House Ghallanda.
- - -
Inside is a fairly impressive establishment. It's not elaborately decorated, but the interior has some features that you wouldn't expect on a run down place in this area.
A simple chandelier hangs above the main room, with a full sized bar, some gambling tables alongside the other tables, and even a stage area off to the side.
There is a dwarven comedian on stage that seems to have lost his zeal and is just going through the motions, not that the few drunken patrons seem to care.
A group of halflings are playing cards at one of the gaming tables, rolling their eyes at the dwarf's jokes. You can tell they've heard them a lot by this point.
A halfling woman greets you after a moment of taking in the atmosphere.
"Ah good morning! Right this way please. The lady has been expecting you."
She leads you to a secluded booth table in the back of the common room.
"My Lady, your guests have arrived."
- - -
The human woman in the dark blue cloak has delicate features, dark blue eyes, and sleek black hair bound with silver and turquoise ornaments. She wears a signet ring of House Cannith on he right ring finger and speaks in a soft but clear voice.
"Thank you for coming. We have important business to discuss that relates to the unfortunate death of bonal Geldem. Please, have a seat."
She gestures to the glasses and three pitchers on the table in front of her. The pitchers are filled with ale, wine, and water.
She waits a moment for you to take your seats, then gets down to business.
"I am Elaydren Vown of House Cannith and I have been working with Provost Geldem to recover a family heirloom...We were to meet last night, but as you know, he never made it. I learned from The Watch what had transpired, and so I sent one of my men to track you down."
- -
"The heirloom, according to family legends, was locked away in a foundry that dates back to pre-galifar Sharn...Poor Bonal believed he had discovered the location of the foundry in an ancient House Cannith journal. I was going to fund an expedition to go to the site, but without Bonal...."
Her voice trails off, and she leans in closely.
"Perhaps you would be willing to recover the heirloom for me? You seem to have some skills given how you fought off Bonal's murderer.
You would receive a generous reward, of course.

They all hesitate, switching back-and-forth between glaring you down and glancing at each other. The one who spoke before answers again, with a smirk.
"Come now, boys. Let's play nice with our new friends. They're in a hurry, so we'll catch up with them next time."
Sheathing their blades, they all step back onto their stoops, though still watching you two closely.

Cutting down a street on the way to their destination, Astrinos and Rosemary find themselves between a set of old apartment buildings.
Stoops line each side of the street, and it seems like a bit of another social gathering spot for the locals.
Every few stoops has groups of 2-3 people, and they stop their conversations to stare as the pair hurry along.
As they near the end of the street, a few people stand up to face them.
All of them looks unkempt with ill fitting clothing, and blades at their waists.
"Well well, boys. Looks like we got us some marks. Just look at that one, he's clinging to his purse like a scared kitten. Hahah!"
The others chuckle along, as they get to their feet, drawing their blades.
"Why don't you make this easier for everyone? Hand over your coin and valuables, and we won't give you some new holes to breath through."
((A map of the current situation is on roll20. This isn't going straight into combat just yet, so you can try to do something in roleplay before turn initiative starts.))

Passing by different people as you walk, you see that most don't seem to have any sort of coin purse.
The ones that do, keep a good distance between themselves and others, and keep a hand over it protectively.
You get the impression that theft is extremely common here, and those that are easy marks wouldn't have anything worth stealing anyway.
Would you still like to try?

The friendly, gap-toothed halfling told you a few things about Callestan and the Broken Anvil.
The district is divided into two 'territories' of sorts.
Eastbridge and Westbridge.
So named because of the broken bridge that locals use as a landmark to denote the border.
It collapsed from an upper level and the debris was just left fallen in an open plaza area of the district.
Westbridge is as safe as anything gets in Callestan, due to the Boromar clan that protects their territory there, and a large population of halflings.
Eastbridge is 'anything goes' and has many different groups and races occupying it.
The Broken Anvil is in Westbridge, nestled in a corner of the Mason Tower. It was literally carved and built into the thick walls of the lower tower, making it a literal 'hole in the wall' establishment.
Heading downward from middle dura, finding their way into Callestan is not a problem and the halfling's directions were quite useful.
While they aren't unheard of in the upper levels, you notice that the lower levels of Sharn definitely seem to have more of the 'monstrous' races.
Kobolds, goblins, gnolls. Even some minotaurs, ogres, and medusas.
In the plaza of Callestan called 'the Bridge' you can see various groupings of people around.
A couple of goblins shooting dice by a stoop. One looks like he just lost a hefty bet.
A group of shifter children, they seem to be competing with each other to see who can roar the loudest.
You notice a minotaur in an alleyway with a broken horn and a spiked club in his hand. He's urinating against a wall, and snarls when he notices you looking his way.
A long time ago, when Sharn was first built and it was only a pittance of what it would later become, it was known as 'The Golden Anvil' but after hundreds of years passed and hundreds of levels were added to the initial towers of Sharn, it's become a ghost of it's former self.
Locals eventually started to call it The Broken Anvil that it's known by now.
The inn is run by Eranna d'Ghallanda. She is kind, honest, and much beloved in the district.

@saeyra: lol dang, Sae.
Astrinos doesn't seem too fond of dwarves I see.
To be fair, anybody living in Middle-to-Lower Dura all live their lives in the dirt.
Dura is probably the worst of all the Quarters in Sharn.
Because Dura is such a large Quarter (It probably accounts for like 1/3 of the city by itself), The City Watch that are assigned to it are spread thin just between Upper and Middle.
So Lower Dura is practically lawless.
The only reason there is any 'law' in lower Dura is because of a large gang protection racket.

Rosemary does know where to find the tavern district of Middle Dura.
Middle Dura isn't the wealthiest ward of Sharn, but it's one of the better areas to practice her trade.
The fatter purses of the upper wards are much more likely to have guards practically attached at the hip, and the people of the lowest wards barely have a couple coins to rub together.
So the middle wards are often just right for snatching a decent amount every now and then.
With Rosemary taking lead they make it to Hareth's Folly, the tavern district, and ask around for 'The Broken Anvil'
Most they ask don't seem to know. They get some different answers that seem to conflict and most don't sound very sure.
Human: "Sounds like a shop in a dwarven neighborhood."
Dwarf: "Hmm, could be at Clifftop?"
Half-orc: "Have you tried checking in Tavick's?"
Angry, Drunken Dwarf: "Piss off!"
The drunkard dwarf staggers off after his rude outburst towards their questions, but a scruffy looking halfling swoops in to greet them.
"Hey there! Don't mind ol' Gulnar there, he's always got a sour attitude."
The halfling flashes a smile with several gaps as he looks you up and down.
"Couldn't help but overhear you're looking for the Broken Anvil. That's down in Callestan. The areas been a madhouse these days, so you should be careful."
He gives some simple directions on how to find the place once you get to Callestan.

Astrinos stops a stranger in the street, a gnomish man in close fitting clothing of greens and reds, and medium length brown hair.
A bag slung over his shoulder is overflowing with scrolls of paper and different styles of pen and quills, with an embroidered patch featuring a cockatrice.
He seems taken aback by your sudden greeting. He turns his head to check behind himself at first, but turns back and gives you a look as if to say 'you mean me?'
"Oh! Good morning! I'm afraid I don't know about any place called Broken Anvil. I don't get outside of Middle Central much, except to see family in Upper Menthis....The name sounds like a tavern you might find in Dura though. I'd recommend asking in the tavern district of Middle Dura. I hope that helps."

With that deadly diversion taken care of, the pair resume their urgent mission to have a fine meal at Sannid's restaurant in the Platinum Heights neighborhood.
Just a hop and skip through the streets of the financial block and they make it there without any further incident.
The host greets them at the door politely, though he does look them up and down a little strangely.
"Would the sir and madam like a bottle of wine with their meal? We offer many fine wines, and even, erm...more modest varieties."
The meal itself costs five gold pieces, and a bottle of 'modest wine' would run five piece more.
((Subtract 5gp or 10gp, depending on your choice. That's total price, not each.))
- - -
After leaving Sannid's fully satisfied, another cloaked figure meets you at the entrance, but without hostility.
He flashes a signet ring bearing the crest of House Cannith before leaning in and speaking quickly.
"If you would know the truth of Bonal Geldem's murder, go to The Broken Anvil tavern at dawn."
And with that, before you are able to question him, the man hurries off, disappearing into the night.
- - -
Rosemary and Astrinos end the night within the Phiarlan Enclave.
At first saying they did not run an inn service, but Astrinos produced a signed letter from the Karnath division of Phiarlan. It noted he was affiliated through his wife in Karnath.
The two have a long rest and meet together the next morning to investigate The Broken Anvil tavern that the hooded man told them of.
