That's how I won my school fundraiser twice in a row, 1st and 2nd grade.
For the fundraiser, we weren't selling anything, just *asking* for donations.
My mom took me around to all the car lots and mobile home sale places in town, and any other similar places.
I'd go through a whole little speech about doing fundraising for my school and how I wanted to win the top prize, and ask them if they could donate to help my school and help me win.

I'd get like 10s and 20s from most of the employees and the managers would usually throw in 50s.
That's how I got my old PS2.
