As for a choker belt, I can't think of any off the top of my head, but I wouldn't trust my memory

Yeah, there weren't avis and items like there are on Voltra. Your avatar/profile picture was just an image that you chose to upload and use as your avatar.

The site had items and badges though. Badges went under your avatar, and you could have have up to 4 displayed in a 2x2 square. They were rounded square images. There were four ways to earn badges. Most users displayed badges of their favorite idols or groups. The images for these badges were voted on once a year by the fans of the groups/artists. You got to choose one badge when you reached 100 posts, and then you could choose 1 more for every 100 posts up to 500 posts/5 badges. After that you could get a new badge for every 250 posts, so you'd get badge 6 at 750 posts and so on.

Another way to get certain badges was by using the forum currency. The badges you could buy this way were for things like anime and video game characters. Forum currency was one of the prizes we gave away during games. The third type of badges was only purchasable with event currency. Event currency was used as prizes for certain games and events that were usually hosted by event staff. Users could put in a request for the event staff to sponsor their event/game though, and they could be sponsored with either regular forum currency, items, or event currency. And the last type of badge was just given out as a prize of its own. For example, there was a badge of the site mascot dressed as a bunny for the Easter event winners. It was also possible to earn a unique badge that a user could choose their own image for.

Then there were items which went under the badges. I forget how many of these you could have displayed at a time, but these were smaller images of various things and some were exclusively purchased with event currency. There were some unique items as well that users could pick their own image for.

The second site was mostly the same minus the event currency.

I was event staff on the bigger site first. I ended up leaving after a while though because my life suddenly became really busy, and I felt I didn't have the time to dedicate to hosting games and events. Once my life calmed down a bit I ended up becoming staff on the smaller site.

I was too much of a lurker to earn the currency I needed to have good prizes for my games... :viosweat:

Although I also had previous experience hosting games that I mentioned on my application for the larger site as well. I'd hosted minigames on both that forum and on another Kpop site before. The main reason I wanted to be event staff was so that I didn't have to earn my own site currency and such to use as prizes.

@xvz: The lack of interviews? I don't think so. For the first site I did play games on the site that staff hosted before I joined the staff, but I was more of a lurker than other users. Also the site was one of the more popular Kpop forums. There were probably a lot of users who didn't know me. It was more active compared to Voltra. The second site was smaller and did have a more close-knit community, but they told me one of the reasons they picked me for event staff was because of my previous experience from the larger Kpop site.

Ah... Writing is stressful after all them. I need to think about this more

Posted in Mad Tea Party: Hangout and Raffle Posted 4 years ago

Yeah, other staff and I kept @ing them in the chat, but they just weren't there

That was the good thing about the Kpop forums. You just applied and then they announced the accepted applicants at some point. There was no interview. Although on the first site you did kind of have a trial period, but it was pretty easy to pass that period.

They ended up returning the day before, but I was worried that I was either going to have to do the things they were supposed to do last minute or cancel the game
