I think most people responded during the given time. If anyone didn't then I don't remember it now

Oh and the day and night cycles lasted for a set amount of time, so they had to get their role choices in by a certain time during the night

Posted in Mad Tea Party: Hangout and Raffle Posted 4 years ago

Mm off the top of my head:
-When we made the game we picked the theme, roles/characters, and the abilities that each role would have
-We posted a sign up thread with the date and time it would be so that users would sign up to play
-A bit before the game started we sent each play their role via PM. Both the other host and I were in each PM.
-Mafia were also placed in a group PM together.
-We would post in the thread when day and night cycles began and ended.
-At night users with night abilities would tell us in their PM if they wanted to use their ability, who they wanted to use it on, and so on. Mafia would decide who to attack.
-If the user investigated someone or such using their role's ability then we would PM them the relevant information.
-At the start of a day we would announce in the thread any deaths that occurred, if someone was attacked but saved, and so on.
-During the day users could discuss what happened during the night and try to decide if they wanted to vote anyone off. If a majority of the players voted for a user then they were lynched and out of the game.

I think those are the main points

It was all through forum posts! I don't think either site ever had games like the one for this event.

The worst part of a forum mafia game is how long it lasts honestly. It's an endurance test.

Yeah, it was fun for the most part. I enjoyed making and hosting events

Oh and I came up with a system that rewarded participation in games for the second site. Like after you participated in however many games you could earn some site currency or such. I thought it would be nice for those who liked games but weren't the best at winning them

Also, I don't think I'd ever want to host a mafia game again. People who host those are admirable

Well, we would do Kpop related and non-Kpop related stuff. On one site I mainly just hosted random minigames like guessing Kpop MVs from screenshots and such. It kind of felt like we were just left to our own devices. I didn't talk to the other staff much. They did host big events, but I think I joined during a big event dry spell.

On the other site I also hosted minigames, but I feel like I spent more time working on games for larger site events with the other event staff. We did a summer olympics event, a Halloween event, and a Christmas event. Some of the games would be Kpop related, but then we would also host games related to the event like Olympic trivia. For the Halloween event I did a pumpkin picking game where every user could pick a square with a pumpkin on it and then each user got a prize depending on the square they chose. It was like the Explore the Board game but just a one time thing. I can see how keeping up with doing it every day would be difficult. I also hosted a Christmasy Mafia-like game with another member of the event staff and a board game type thing during the Halloween event. Mafia games were really popular on the Kpop forums, but I didn't play them much myself. We also did some sort of scavenger hunt with things hidden around the site. I helped come up with some clues and locations for that. There was some drama among the staff on that site though, and after a while I left because I was tired of other people leaving and staff being weird or mean-spirited.
