I like sleep! Although I'm not sure how to fit it with "does not travel alone."

A wolf? They travel in packs and you might hear them howl at night. I'm not sure if a howl is the same as a "beckoning call" though...

The idea of being vast but also in a cage sounds like an emotion to me, one that has been bottled up for a long time. But to gnash one's teeth while breathing heavily feels more specific, almost like anger or discontent? Envy works too!

I thought essentially the same thing as Siron. Our dreams guide us like the stars, but can also be our downfall. In the future, we may achieve them or we may not.

Lots of other words like goals, aspirations, etc. fit the same way.

@Angelus: Indeed, you can do pretty much whatever you want with the stuff that's floating around up there :P

Maybe you can't discard your imagination, but you can discard the products of it, your ideas. I think that's close enough :)

@Angelus: That is true, it would definitely have to refer to a single-player game.

It could be an e-book. That's a more obviously solo activity.

This could be a lot of things, but my first thought was a video game.

The only thing I can think of that you can taste is smoke. Otherwise maybe it's a tornado?
