This one feels pretty open-ended, like there are a lot of plausible answers, even if Violet's looking for one in particular. I really liked some of the more abstract ideas other people had :)

glass (like eyeglasses) is made of sand?

@Miss kitty: I guess anything can blind you if you put it directly in your eyes... but I figure it helps if it's super sharp xD

I was thinking glass, but I couldn't figure out how it applies to the second half. Sand is much better.

@Shadami: I was just starting to think, since the duck in my scenario was standing at the finish line for the last 6 hours, that we could do it faster. Nice job!
