I'll be fine, I'm sensible enough to know my own limits... We have to hurry or we may lose this chance forever!

No time to linger, friends! We need to decide now!

Leo looks up, grunting as he stretches out his paws.
@miss kitty: Hm... He doesn't seem too concerned by the cans, but that does not mean much. It takes a lot to rattle Leo, after all.
However, he does confirmed that the object was not there previously, and adds that he senses something familiar about it.

@taemins lover: And interesting approach and I'm elated that you went to do some independent research! Very helpful, indeed.
I theorize that would be connected to the hint Bernard offered us earlier, since he made use of shadow as well... Hm... *rubs his chin thoughtfully* It's possible then, animals can harness a perception we humans are unable to, isn't that right Leo?
Leo looks up, grunting sleepily, causing Vontell to smile.
Astute observation as always, my friend. Perhaps we should research this further.

Should I pause to help a friend in immediate need? It's possible they may be connected in some way, but it's impossible to say, and she doesn't appear to be in danger at the moment. However, we are already here...
On the other hand, if we have the chance to catch the VPD we could get valuable allies and assistance. But if we leave now and there's no response, we could be wasting further time and potentially endangering Val... Hm...

I feel absolutely remorseful, but we must continue on... This is going to weigh on me for a while, though. I apologize for the delay.

This is a moral quandary, isn't it...?

Vontell shakes his head gently.
@okios: It's a fair idea, it would be worth a try. But it might turn out to be futile, with all things considered. Most citizens have been without any form of power... Magic users have been able to muster up enough energy to charge some small devices like phones, but not everyone is skilled enough to harness that power. Val may be able to, but she is also siphoning all power towards the battery. Hm...
Vontell slips his phone out of his pocket, showing that he does have a charge. He taps to call Valentina, bringing it to his ear. Waiting, he receives no answer, letting out a disappointed sigh.
As I suspected. There's something else you should know about Val. When she is in 'work mode', she often tunes everything else out. Even if she did have a charge, she more than likely is ignoring us. How else do you think she's missed this black out for so long? *laughs warmly, shaking his head* If we wish to speak to her, we'll have to confront her ourselves.

Vontell rubs his chin thoughtfully from the question.
@dowan: An interesting proposal. I never pondered a deeper meaning into her selection of baked goods, I always assumed she chose it for its French origin. *laughs gently* Hm... But now that mention it, she always was in a cantankerous mood when she ordered it... I wonder if that has any relation to our case...

Clever thinking, we could have missed the barista if we had dallied too long!

@mdom: Vontell chuckles warmly, shaking his head.
If I give him away, who will tirelessly edit my manuscripts? I apologize, but Leo is my best friend, and I'm far too attached to him to part ways.
Leo rests on the ground, looking peaceful and unconcerned, as always. Vontell smiles, and is unable to stop himself from kneeling beside the capybara, burying his face into his pet's fur and petting him affectionately. He catches himself, coughing and straightening himself out with a more serious tone.
We should continue on with our investigation now. What do you think of our current situation?

@eruca: Oh I'd say it's absolutely a possibility. We'll have to see which path our investigation takes us down first, won't we?
It's remarkable how neck and neck this decision has been so far. I'm incredibly impressed by all your detective work, you bring up some excellent perspectives. Hm... We'll have to see if anyone else wants to assist us.
Vontell smiles warmly in approval, his spirits kept strong by the enthusiasm of his helpers. However, his eyebrows soon furrow, bringing his fingers to his chin to stroke it thoughtfully.
@dowan: Unfortunately there were no real leads as of now. I may have been the last person to speak with her on that day. She embarked with the intention of having an undeniably important conversation with Vanora, but as you may surmise, she never made it that far. Considering how wholeheartedly eager she was, I doubt that she would have gotten misguided. Hm... Regrettably, this is why I suspect foul-play. But I do hope it's not the case...
It might not hurt to revisit some of our friends for a more thorough investigation if all else fails, but at this moment I think one of these options will be the forerunner to find some clue of where she may have vanished.
