i think also w friends , as you get older you're less likely or willing to like ... do anything? like you're more set in your adult ways?
i feel like when you're younger you're more willing to talk to anyone or entertain any ideas, go w the flow, go anywhere / do or try anything
but as you're older you're like, i just wanna do things i know i like or see people i know i like, and not really interested in things you don't want to do

i'm glad mail in ballots are a thing too! i am kind of glad that w the pandemic, more things are becoming accessible for those w physical disabilities, chronic pain, etc. it's frustrating it took a whole pandemic to get to here but i'll take the progress lol
i def get seasonal depression :-/ i think i'm p sensitive to like light/weather, so all the winter darkness usually gets to me
i'm trying to get up earlier though so i can get more daylight hours in - it's not my natural sleep schedule so it's kind of tough but i think would still be worth trying to make the change
the scheduling stuff is real! like when ur hours don't line up w ur friends :<

i just joined may of this year also out of nostalgia for avi sites :-) i've found the community here to be fairly sweet wholesome friendly etc and have stuck around, hope you do too !
i found the newbie guide and item museum rather helpful when i first joined! and some terminology -- volts are our regular currency, ohms are the premium currency, crates are our monthly donation items, and orbs are random item generators that rotate out every 3 months! lmk if you have any questions :-)

@moodybats: mm it's good to go w a process that works for you! imo it's better to do it in a way that is more enjoyable / feels good for you, than to force a process that leaves you feeling frustrated or discouraged
while it can help to push yourself outside ur comfort zone, i think you need enough "comfort" to stay motivated and encouraged so you can keep up w it
i'm not sure if i would try inktober this year , but i do think seeing all the art from ppl who are doing it will be good inspo to make art this month ^^

@moodybats: ohh i read the tombow ones are really good! i haven't tried them but i went down a weird eraser rabbit hole at one point lol
what do you think you'll be using for your anatomy studies? ^^ i plan on doing some more figure drawings / studies this month :3
i'm thinking of using one of these: line of action , sketch daily - i like that they have "class mode" so you can warm up w shorter poses before doing longer ones :0

i do usually hang out w ppl one on one for the most part :0 like most of my friends have never met
last year i was kind of hoping i could start bringing some friends together though so we could hang out in groups more , but i can't really do it this year lol

ooh i see :0 are you still in an urban area? it sounds like u can walk/transit everywhere still right?
i think one of my coworkers lives in reston? it's like a planned community which i thought was kind of interesting... it seems possibly a little sterile (compared to , say , baltimore) but i can imagine it being less chaotic and maybe a fun project if you were an urban planner?
i think early voting here runs from 10/24 to 11/1 :0 so i'll see whichever ends up being faster, i'm not sure where my polling place is either yet tho
mm sounds like hibernation! i think it's also kind of like a different mindset too, like the way you think abt it i feel like can change how much you enjoy it
i think in the past i had a big breadth of friends so i saw ppl quite often (to the point that i had to say no to plans p often - tho also bc i have chronic pain and physically getting around the city uses up a lot of spoons!) - but now it's like you have to be active about seeing ppl and so i don't see a lot of acquaintances anymore sadly (and ofc have just been seeing fewer ppl in general) - and i also don't see friends who live >2 miles away very often since i've try to avoid transit if i can
i can have a bad habit of socially isolating myself though since i'm an introvert and really enjoy spending time at home lol which i do have to try to stay mindful of!

what kind of erasers did you get??
i bought these sakura foam erasers this year and they're AMAZING, would highly recommend - i've used other erasers in the past (the classic pental/staedtler ones - which are also p nice and a good value imo) but these are next tier lol
they are a few dollars more though but not by too much and i think they're totally worth if anyone's lookin for erasers in the future lol
i'm def in the market for sketchbooks though, esp one of the bigger ones, lmk if you like the ones u get :0

i had such a lovely time on there when i was growing up! i made some very good friends who i got super close to, like we sent each other packages/gifts, stayed up chatting so many nights, i even met one of them irl! i see them around on social media every now and then still :0
i was there pretty early on i think, i remember having a kings/queen crown at one point and i think i donated them right before i left?
even tho avi sites are niche i'm glad that they are still A Thing, like surviving social media and everything :-)
like even if it s a more niche corner of the internet, i think the fact that they've been around for so long means they'd probably be sticking around (as a general concept) for a while? at least i would like to think so ^^

@lina: oohh do u get cold easily ?? it was low 60s today which felt super nice in the sun! and was perfect for walking around in, in like jeans+sweater :"-)
i was wearing two layers tho and i also brought a jacket in my backpack but didn't even need to bring it out!
that sounds super fun ^^ for the paint by number do u like print it out ..? do u use markers or ? :0
i've never made a journal but i did have a friend make one for me once and it was such a lovely gift!!! do u have a tutorial u follow or anything, i'd love to try it sometime!
i've never tried crocheting though i would love to learn, i love the crochet plushies and would to make one someday<3 how did u learn? ^^
i learned how to knit rectangles in middle school and made a scarf or two when i was younger... i think it's a nice activity to do / keep hands occupied while watching tv!
