"Ran out to the store." Jaden responded.
When Desiree got to the kitchen, she saw WHY he'd gone to the store.
She saw a litter box, some little, proper water and food bowls, some kitten food (both wet and dry), and a few cat toys as well.
He looked over towards her, and smiled.
"Figured the little thing might as well have proper facilities, food, and such." he reasoned.
"He seems to like you as well." he added, as the kitten nuzzled Desiree's chin.

Desiree just scratched the kitten behind the ears and chuckled.
'He's too cute to not love." She comented before sighing.
"And he needs to put on some weight..." she added after a moment.
"I'll repay you for all that once I can."
"Hence the food." Jaden replied.
"I think he should put on some weight. He looks... well... not dangerously thin, but concerningly so." he said.
"And don't be in any hurry to repay me." he went on.
"Whatever helps you feel more comfortable and safe." he said.
"You two might just be good for each other." he reasoned.
"So... think he might help you sleep?" he asked.
"Seems he looks ready to settle down already." he added with a chuckle, as the kitten yawned.
"I think he should put on some weight. He looks... well... not dangerously thin, but concerningly so." he said.
"And don't be in any hurry to repay me." he went on.
"Whatever helps you feel more comfortable and safe." he said.
"You two might just be good for each other." he reasoned.

"No reason not to try, at any rate." She added before pausing a moment
"Thank you, Jaden." She then said with a soft smile.
"Just... for everything so far." She added, her voice soft, sincere
Jaden smiled back at her.
"You're welcome." he replied.
"And I mean that sincerely." he told her.
"Feel free to stay here as long as you think is necessary." he then said, before yawning once more.
"Oh boy..." he muttered.
"I think we should both try and get some sleep." he said.
"I'll set up food and water out here, and then put litter in the bathroom." he informed her.

"What if I'm in there having a shower, and I close the door? the kitty wouldn't be able to get in there to use the litter if need be." She commented.
"Or if either of us are having a bath?" She then added before shrugging.
"Bathroom is just a bad idea."
"Hm." Jaden muttered.
"Good point." he said.
"Well, where do you suggest?" he asked.
"Actually... maybe it'd be best if YOU set it up." he told her. "He already seems to be attached to you, and it'll probably stick with him a bit more if you show him where it is and such." he continued.

"He's so full of himself and self-important and grah!" he exclaimed.
"And he always smells of wine and bad cologne." he finished, hanging his tongue out in disgust.

Desiree cringed slightly as Jaden mentioned what he did at the end.
"Seriously?" She asked before sniffing the fur on the kitten that had gotten comfy in her arms.
"Ugh, I can smell it in hthis little ones fiur." She half snarled.
"That is not good. No animal should smell like that."
"....ah!" Jaden replied.
"Right, I also bought a small bottle of kitten shampoo for him." he remembered.
"So you may want to clean him up relatively soon." he went on.
"But at least it isn't smoke." he told her.
"I don't think he smokes anything." he assured her.
"He's just... well... overall a very distasteful person with a disgusting personality." he continued.
"Don't even know WHY he had a cat in the first place..." he mumbled, shaking his head some.

Desiree sighed.
"I'll do that first." She said after a moment. After Jaden nodded and handed her the shampoo, she sighed.
'This... may not be easy." she commented before heading off to the bathroom and filling the tub. As she did so, the kitten was lying on the counter, watching her.
Jaden followed her, and stood at the doorway, as he watched her fill the tub, and watched the kitten look at the tub curiously.
'Hm. he thought.
'Doesn't seem to be immediately nervous or on edge. he went on.
The kitten then jumped down from the counter, and then onto the edge of the tub, intently watching the rising water.
"Hah." Jaden laughed.
"Something tells me getting him INTO the tub won't be an issue." he told Desiree.
'Hm. he thought.

"I think keeping him in might be the issue." She added.
"It's rare that felines like water, so..." she trailed off.
"Don't be surprised if I'm bleeding after this." She then said with a light laugh.
... ooohhh... Rene ain't gonna be happy with me. she thought before mentall shrugging, setting her headset aside to keep it safe, and turning the tap off.
"well kitty. It's time for you to go for a swim."
The kitten looked at her curiously, before looking at the water. It then reached a paw down, and started to bat and swat at the water, trying to splash it about some. It then leaned in a little more, wanting to actually succeed in its quest, before it realized the side of the tub didn't have any grip to it.
Which was when it went sliding into the water.
Sure enough, the little feline was definitely surprised, and it thrashed about a little, until it realized it stood above the water line.
It then looked at Desiree and mewled.

'Maybe this won't be as difficult as I thought." She commented as she grabbed the shampoo and set it aside, before scopping water in her hands and drizzling it over the kitten.
"You need to be cleaned. If only just so you smell better." She commented with a sigh
The kitten looked around some, and mewled once more.
"Hm." Jaden muttered.
"Seems he's one of those felines that doesn't thrash and squirm, but makes a lot of noise when they're bathed." he commented.
"At least you won't be shredded." he said further.
"And he does seem to be staying still." he went on.
"Looks like you're just what he needs, Desiree." he then commented.
"Hm." Jaden muttered.

Desiree just chuckled lightly.
"Seems so." She said.
"Now get out of here. Lemme deal with this kitty." She then said. After he was gone, she started to carefully make sure the water was deep in the kitten's fur before adding some shampoo and starting to scrub it up.
She wanted to take advantage of how it wasn't squirming or anything righ tnow.
The kitten didn't struggle or squirm, but it did mewl and yowl a number of times.
Only when Desiree had rinsed the shampoo out of its fur did it stop making noises.
However, that was when it started to squirm and fidget.
It scrambled out of her grasp, and started to try and climb up out of the tub... with little success.
But it was clear that it was saying 'all right, enough bath time now'.

"Hey!" Desiree exclaimed after a few seconds.
"Lemme finish rinsing you and then dry you off." She said as she dumped water on its head, keeping it in place a bit with her wind.
'Don't worry, you'll be ok."
The kitten mewled once more, before growling slightly.
And then did nothing.
It seemed like this was its version of 'pouting'.
Which made it even MORE adorable than it already was.
But it was also clear that this feline liked her, and trusted her.

Desiree was quick to finish rinsing the last dregs of shampoo and bubbles off of the feline before scooping it up in a towel and draining the water.
"All right, let's get you dry and warmed up." She said as she started to rub the towel against the kitten to try and get the water off.
