Rene was silent, and sighed.
"You're free to stay here for longer than that." he told her.
"Storm or not, this is NOT a friendly season." he said.
"From the sounds of it, school closures may be a thing tomorrow." he then went on.
"So I'll pay attention to the radio for that." he continued.
"Was everything I ordered all right?" he then asked her.

"Good to know about closures being possible." She commneted. "And yeah. the food was good." She added
"Best pizza I've had in awhile, actually."
Rene just smiled.

"I order from only top-quality places." he told her.
"Anyway, I'm going to go and change the light in the bathroom." he then said further.
"And check to make sure my generator's still running." he went on.
"There's a good chance of losing power tonight." he finished.

"I really hope this doesn't last too long." She then said before sighing lightly, not entirely sure what all TO say beyond that for the moment.
"Same here." Rene replied, looking out the window.
"This weather is frightful, to say the least." he commented.

"Things could conk out completely, and we'd have power for... oh, at least a week, I would say." he continued.

"Now. I'll let you get back to watching TV, and enjoying your companion." he told her, looking at the cat.

"All I can think of are Lucky, Felix, and Faust." he told her.
"Mostly because they all mean 'lucky'." he went on.
"After all, he's lucky to have found you." he reasoned. "And I daresay you're lucky to have happened upon him." he added with a small smile.

"Huh." She looked to the kitten before chuckling.
"Felix works. And works well, since he's a black kitty." She then said.

Felix looked at her as she said what she did, and looked at her confusedly.
He mewed softly, and made his way closer, before nuzzling her.
The feline wasn't quite sure what was wrong, but he wanted to help... the only way he knew how.
And the wind continued to howl outside. She could hear the storm getting worse. The lights even flickered briefly.
It seemed this would be a rather violent night, weather-wise.

Erica sighed as she just pet Felix.
"This storm is a doozy.... like damn." she muttered.
"But... at least I'm inside for this one." She added as the power flickered again.
". . . yeah... at least I'm inside this time."
-Some time later-
Rene sighed as he sat at his desk, looking out the window.
The weather had finally calmed down, overall, but it was still cold out there, being winter and all.
"Hm." he mumbled to himself.
"Almost break time." he said, looking at the clock on his wall.
"Maybe I'll go get a coffee." he muttered.

Erica had stayed with Rene for the couple of months, since he almost wouldn't let her leave, but primarily because she was appreciative of it. She wasn't sure how long she'd stay there, but for now, she was staying with him. She had to figure out if she was going to stay or not, but she wasn't that worried about it for the moment regardless.
As Rene was out geting a coffee from somewhere that wasn't he hospital, because that was somewhere with some of the worst coffee he'd ever had, he saw a couple fo ambulances tear through the streets and toward the hospital. There were three, and they came at the same time.
Which was odd.
Something happened somewhere in the city.
"........." Rene was silent as he saw the ambulances go by.
"So much for my break." he said.
He then gulped down his coffee, and immediately started to rush back to the hospital.
He couldn't risk using his usual mode of transportation, seeing as too many people were around, but he was close enough to the hospital.
So he decided to rush back, in case he'd be needed.

As he made his way back, he saw one of the vehicles being unloaded.
It was a kid that he knew went to the same school as Erica. A kid that he'd seen her have to ignbore, and resist throwing the first punch with.
A kid that normally caused the air to change around Erica.
Which raised several questions. More were raised as well when he walked inside, and felt the air change in the ER, much as he'd felt back home in the past. Ever since Erica first arrived.
Rene froze when he felt the air in the ER.
".......what?" he muttered.
"What the hell...?" he asked, looking around.
'This feels like the first night Erica arrived at my place.' he thought.
'Right, SOMETHING is going on with her.' he then told himself, before looking to find Erica.
She HAD to be here somewhere.

As he went through, he saw that those that had been brought in were abs9olutely beaten. They looked horrible, and certainly as if there had been a lot of trouble with them. Perhaps they'd gotten caught up in a brawl of some sort. There was no way to know, especially since they seemed to be beaten far too much to actually say anything for the moment.
As he was looking though, he saw a wrapped hand through a crack iun a curtain. As he looked, he saw a nurse removing the wrapping, sniupping it so that they could remove it.
The one there though, it was Erica. And she was bloodied, and bruised as hell.

Rene's eyes widened when he saw it was Erica... and how badly beaten she was.
"Oh my lord..." he whispered, as he stepped in.

"What happened here?" he asked her.
