"Good." Sierra muttered before sighing.

---

Sierra had blended right into the others at the school, and after that one little event with Denise, she'd been one that people would avoid - or they would cling to her. She was seen as something akin to a protector, especialyl since Denise didn't learn her lesson. Well, she kinda did, seemed to be lashing out in anger instead of for the hell of it.

"So Jack, tell me. Which movie do you think you want to see this weekend?" Sierra asked after a few seconds, after she'd taken a bit of the sub she had for lunch.

Jackson thought for a moment when she asked her question.

"Hmmm..." he mumbled.

"Well... there's that new flick about that rich brooding hero guy that dresses in a black costume and stuff, and seems to have serious parental issues." he told her. "I hear it's better than the previous entries in the series." he said.

"There's the other hero flick about that alien that comes to earth and has those overpowered abilities, but they somehow keep managing to pull some stupid contrivances to make him weak, and screwing up his character development." he went on.

"Or there's that horror flick about the black sludgy monster that takes over people." he continued.

"Beyond that... just stupid comedies and such. Anything you're up for?" he asked.

As the time went on, Jackson and Sierra had been spending more and more time together... and he didn't mind one little bit. In fact, he was more than happy that things turned out this way.

"Honestly, there is that new comedy that caught my interest. The dark one 'dead date'? I think it was called. The whole zombie that managed to survive, somehow, just for a date with the chick he had the hots for." Sierra answered.

"I am not sure if that is quite up your alley though..." she admitted.

"Oh yeah, I heard about that." Jackson replied.

"Not big on romantic comedies." he said.

"But I DO like zombies..." he admitted.

"Eh, sure." he then said.

"I'll give it a shot."

Sierra just chuckled.

"Apparently it is not romantic at all. He's back for that date, but then there is other shit that happens, he does not make it to the date and just... other things. I dunno." She said with a shrug.

'But cool. Of course we could change our minds by the weekend. It's only Tuesday." She added with a chuckle

"Eh, true." Jackson agreed.

He then sighed, and popped some grapes into his mouth.

"Oh yeah, and I still got that two-for-one pass for the movie." he said.

"So it's on me." he told her.

"What's this? A daaaaaaate?" a nearby young male asked.

Jackson was silent for a moment, as his face turned slightly red... but he then faced the one that was teasing them.

"You know, your ribbing would be a lot more effective if it weren't for the well-known fact you're jealous and lonely." he retorted.

Sierra looked over to the one that had made his way over.

"Hey there Heath." She said.

"How did you find that pop quiz we had in English?" She asked, her voice curious.

The young male, Heath, seemed to clam up suddenly.

"Uh?" he stammered.

"I..." he stuttered further.

"I... uh, well... I mean... it... it was... good..." he said.

"I mean, I... well... I did... I think I did... like... all right..." he went on.

"How... how about... you?" he then asked her.

"Oh, I probably aced it." Sierra answered.

"English is my strongest subject after all." She then added.

"If you want, as I have offered before, I am more than willing to help you out with the subject, if you feel you need or want it." She then said with a soft smile.

Heath was silent for a moment, and his face turned red.

"Uh! I... I mean..." he stammered.

"Well... that is... if... if you... uh, well..." he stammered further.

"Suremaybelaterreallygottagoby!" he then spat out, before hastily heading off.

"..............mmhmm." Jackson muttered.

"Plain as day."

Sierra just laughed as Heath took off.

"Yeahhh I should corner him later about that." She commented. "Seeing as I know he does need the help in English." She added with a light sigh, that shifted to a smirk a few seconds later.

"And I know he would love the time with me."

"Not that he'll admit it." Jackson replied.

"He's a living conundrum." he told her.

"Can I be there when you corner him?" he then asked. "He'll get all flustered and it'll be hilarious." he said with a bit of an antagonistic chuckle.

"But seriously, though." he then went on, his tone changing.

"We ARE still going to the movie this weekend, barring extenuating circumstances, yeah?" he asked.

Sierra nodded.

"Yes, we are." She answered him after a couple of seconds.

"As for your question... I am not sure. Maybe?" She asked with a chuckle.

"I do not know if I want to have that so visible... might corner him in private." She told him honestly

"Nngh." Jackson muttered.

"Damn." he said.

He then sighed, and shook his head.

"What theatre, anyway?" he asked.

"I'm good with any of them." he told her.

"Except Grand Coliseum." he then said further.

"Damn racists..." he growled, in reference to them not allowing known mutants on the premises.

"Oh! no no no." Sierra said honestly.

"I would never consider going there. I do not like how they treat people overall." She then said.

"I was thinking we can go to Skyline." She then answered after a few seconds.

"If only just because of the fact that it is one of the closest here, yet has a rather... clear air. They are one of the most accepting places I have found."

"Ah, Skyline." Jackson replied.

"Sounds good." he said.

"Love that place." he told her.

He was then silent, and looked around a few times.

".....hm....." he mumbled.

"Something seems... off..." he said.

"Can't put my finger on it, but... something just seems... not right..."

Sierra was silent for a moment.

"I..." She paused before she looked around.

"The air seems... I cannot say what... but the air seems off, yeah." She added before getting to her feet.

"If anything, it is too quiet"

"Yeah, that's what I was thinking, too." Jackson agreed, looking around and narrowing his eyes.

"We're not the only ones that noticed it, either." he said.

"A LOT of people are looking uneasy." he went on, looking at the students in the room.

Suddenly, one of the school's sirens started going off, and they heard a staff member's voice over the P.A. system.

"Attention all students! We have a Code 36-A in progress! This is not a drill! Please make your way in an orderly fashion to the designated safe zones!" they announced.

"....no..." Jackson said quietly.

".....we're under attack."

Sierra paused.

"Excuse me?" She asked.

"You mean that those in the city are actually ballsy enough to finally attack here?" She asked, her voice incredulous. Then again, she looked stunned as could be as well.

"Well, we need to get going." She added as she got to her feet.

"....it seems so." Jackson responded.

"We need to get to the designated safe-zones, yeah." he then agreed.

With that, he got to his feet as well, and they started to make their way out of the cafeteria.

"...never thought this would happen..." he admitted.

"I don't think any of us did." he then muttered.

"Especially Denise." he added, seeing the person in question, who seemed to be petrified with fear.
