Once Sierra saw who it was, she felt absolute hatred well up inside. She knew them to be the most caring person.

It was one of the schools medics, and they were the one that was most often jumping to help anyone they could at any time.

They were a mutant as well, and she knew that, it was how they were so effective with the medical stuff. The question though, was why they were doing this.

But Sierra wasn't going to dwell on that.

Without considering that they would likely have some sort of protection against her, she just raced toward them and stepped inside their body, intending to kill them from the inside out.

The staff member froze when they felt Sierra inside them.

"........well, well." they said.

"Looks like ghost girl is here." they commented.

"Commander?" one of the men asked.

"She's entered my body." the leader replied.

"Well, Sierra." he then said, seeming to be calm.

"Looks like you've caught me."

Sierra didn't say anything, she didn't trust herself to try and say anything for the moment.

Instead, she concentrated everything she had onto the task at hand. She wasn't sure where to aim, specifically, so was just letting it go where it wanted to, so to speak. As a result, the target was his head.

This was what he would get for betraying the people he had helped to heal in the past. She would tear their mentality apart piece by piece until they couldn't even breathe on their own.

His eyes widened when he felt what he did.

"It seems she is set to kill me." he said.

"COMMANDER!" one yelled.

"Continue with the destruction of everything and everyone here." he told them.

"This was to be MY fate as well, after all." he said, which seemed to confuse them.

"Farewell, comrades." he finished, before they all started to scatter, to do as they were ordered.

"...my, my... the pain you cause is... exquisite." he then told Sierra.

Sierra paused a moment, before smirking and using what little control of his body she could muster. She forced him to run to one of the locations of the dashboards with the security on it, reveal it, and punch in the lockdown code.

It would ensure the protection fo the safe zones. No one would be able to get in. The only way to cancel it was from within one of them.

"Now they won't have the same fate as you or I." She stated with a snarl before essentially tearing his brain apart. She felt herself thrust from his body as he collapsed, and just stood there, watching, for longer than she should have.

". . . That... was too rewarding..." she then admitted with a sigh before looking around, not entirely sure what the best choice of action would be now.

As she looked around, she heard the destruction that was happening around her. She heard more people dying, more of the building being demolished... it was death and destruction all around.

And in the end, it pretty much was. Several agonizing hours later, the place had been turned into nothing more than a shell of a shadow of its former self. And anyone that hadn't been in the shelters were dead.

Or missing, in Jackson's case.

His body hadn't been found, dead or alive. He seemed to be missing, completely.

She was... alone.

Sierra was completely silent as her ethereal form stood in the middle of what had been the cafeteria at one point. There were bodies all over, both mutant and not, and it was almost a sea of blood in some areas.

She had no idea what to make of this.

She couldn't fully grasp it either. Not once in her life had she ever witnessed an attack as horrific as this. To have been part of it was definitely weighing on her too.

No one seemed ot know she was around, the body she'd been using had been decimated in the grenade blast as well. There was no identifying her as one of the lost. She almost didn't care.

She'd spent the last however long looking for Jackson. The barrier had vanished and she'd been able to check where she'd found him before, there in the cafeteria, but ... she couldn't find him. She could find no trace of him.

And it was tearing Sierra apart.

"No..." She said quietly, determination and pain in her voice.

"I will find you, Jack." She added before looking around, hoping to find a body that wasn't too horribly marred for the moment. Sadly, she couldn't. She'd have to make a trip to a morgue, and she knew that. She'd expected it, even. She just didn't want to leave the grounds, for fear of missing her chance to find Jackson. If... if there was a chance...

She had to believe there was, though. She'd go insane if she didn't, she was sure.

No matter where she looked, she didn't find him.

Nor any evidence of him.

No matter where she looked, she couldn't find any trace of Jackson. Nothing. Nada.

The only hint she found... and even then, it was a slight one... was overhearing someone say they saw a group of the soldiers running away from the grounds.

And they appeared to have someone with them. But they didn't see who.

Sierra was silent as she looked - not that anyone would hear her anyway. As she heard what she did, that little hint, she paused.

It was the best she'd heard thus far.

It was all she had.

Everyone in the area could almost feel her conviction when she decided to hunt them out. It was nigh on impossible to not tell. Yet no one, or at least very little of the survivors, would be able to identify what it was that was in the air. At least not until she screamed out of frustration loud enough to make the air vibrate, and punched the wall, causing a dent to appear in it.

She had something to do before she went hunting out Jackson.

She had to check ont he staff that survived, and see if the headmaster had. If he had, she had some information for him.

Unfortunately, everywhere she looked, she saw death. Death and destruction.

And it all came to a head when she saw a familiar blue body.

There was no doubt about it. It was the headmaster. And he had not survived.

He'd died like the rest of the staff... protecting the students.

But that meant there was nobody in a position of power or influence to tell anything to.

Sierra just stared at the body of the one she was hunting for. She couldn't move for the moment, and felt herself starting to shake. What from? Sheer unadulterated rage. This was rare, and she realized in the back of her mind that it was very likely due to how she'd been without a body for so long by this point. She was barely holding it together and barely avoiding letting out a scream to rip a tear through the time-space continuum.

"I need a fucking body." she growled before seeming to vanish from where she was. She had a mission, and she knew that.

She had to find Jack, yes. She had something else she had to do as well though.

She had to help those that survived that attack. She had to try and organize somerwhere for them to be safe. She had to... she refused to let them grow up as she had, without a helping hand.

-7 years later-

The school had been rebuilt. But things were never the same. The attack had taken its toll, and the example it set had been a turn for the worse for mutants.

The attitudes towards them had soured immensely, and they were persecuted even more violently now. So much so, the school was nothing more than a monument to the attack.

And Jackson still hadn't been found.

However, Sierra had heard something that was promising, and yet horrifying.

There were rumours that the army had a secret weapon... one that turned rebels to stone statues.

The school wasn't used, at least not in large. It was too easy to know what was going on in there, it was far too easy for it to be in use and then be a perfect target again.

Instead there were underground lessons being learned, and most of them were being taught by those that had managed to survive the attack. It was largely to help mutants flourish, to help them know how to hide what they could do, so as to avoid detection, but not all were good for that. There were several that were 'caught', that were killed. It ate Sierra up inside, since she'd taken it personally to help all she could. She'd been alive for so long, it wasn't hard to guess that she could do some good with helping others get a handle on what they could do.

She'd made progress with both Heath and Jackson, before the attack.

It was a day she didn't have anyone to 'tutor' when she got the news. She'd been walking through the crowd in the middle of the city, where there had been a new stone statue erected. She'd thought it was odd, but hadn't questioned it. It hadn't even crossed her mind that it hadn't been carved, since it honestly looked to have been.

At least not until she'd heard the rumours.

As soon as the words reached her ears, she froze. Over the years she'd been hunting any time she didn' thave anything else to do. She'd be roaming as a ghost, putting her own safety at risk, but she didn't care.

She had to find him if it was the last thing she did.

The news she'd heard though, was absolutely terrifying. She paused a moment before approaching, looking properly terrified.

"Did I hear you right?" She asked, some convincing fear and hesitation to her voice.

"They have something that can turn rebels to stone?" She asked. One of the two that were talking looked to her and nodded.

"Yeah, and that there," they motioned to the statue "was created via that. He was one of the most well known mutants in recent days." That information both elated Sierra, and utterly terrified her.

On one hand, it meant that Jackson was likely alive. She refused to consider that they'd managed to harness his ability.

But it also meant that he was doing this... that he was working with them. The only thing that would make that all right would be that he wasn't doing it willingly.

The ones that she had been talking to just shook their heads.

"A shame." one said.

"I have nothing against mutants." he commented, before he paused.

"D-don't tell anyone that." he told her.

"Please. A statement like that can get one targeted." he muttered, fear in his tone.

"They say all these statues are either mutants, or mutant sympathizers."

Sierra was silent.

"That... that is absolutely terrifying..." She then said.

"To think that there is any way that someone, or something, can do something of that sort...." she trailed off before looking to the one that said they had no issues.

"I can't blame ya there. Some of the recent medical advancements, or scientific advancements, are because of mutants." She then said, not worrying about if anyone overheard her. She was already realizing she had to get to where they had that 'weapon'.... she had to know if it was Jackson.

The ones she had been talking to had backed away from her, just as an official-looking man approached.

"Excuse me." he said to Sierra.

"Did you just say that 'recent medical advancements, or scientific advancements, are because of mutants'?" he asked her.

"That sounds a lot like mutant praise." he said further.

"Which is on par with mutant sympathizing."

Sierra just turned to face him.

"Are you going to deny the truth?" She asked.

"You know it is as true as the sun rising." She then said with a shrug.

"But so be it. I said it and I am sticking to it."

The man just growled, as a few other uniformed soldiers showed up.

"So you admit to mutant sympathizing." he said.

"Very well." he said further, more quietly.

"Take her away!" he ordered those that had just joined him... to which they stepped up and grabbed her arms.

"You'll serve as another reminder to those that would betray us." he said cruelly.

Sierra didn't fight them off. This , she was sure, would be the easiest way to get to where it was that she was sure that Jackson was.

"All right then. Be morons." She then said before smirking.

"Look at Hitler. He tried to do exactly what you're doing. Didn't end well for him, did it?"

The man responded by swiftly slapping her across her cheek.

"Silence!" he snapped.

"Take her away! Now!" he barked.

She was then yanked over to a van, her hands cuffed behind her back, and shoved into the rear of the van, the doors slamming behind her.

After a few minutes, the van pulled away roughly, jostling her about.
