"Mm." he mumbled. "Fair." he said.

"Ahhh, regardless, there anything you want to do before we move on?" he asked him.

"Because I don't." he told him.

"I'm good to go whenever you are."

Ryker paused for a moment, smiled, and pulled Eke in close.

"Back atcha." he said, giving him a hug.

"You make my life worth something." he told him.

"Which is to say... it's a life worth living with you in it." he then clarified.

"That might sound sappy and dramatic, but it's truth."

"No no i get it. its cause of you i am as strong as i am" he started walking backwards so he could face ryker, but using his tail to make sure he didnt run into anything.

"I mean sure in the beginning you treated me like a sick kid, but after a while you stopped" he nodded

"You started treating me like i was capable, and im slowly learning how to be capable" he grinned.

"But yes...it was totally sappy" he smirked and turned forward again.

"So, how far are we from the capital?" he asked.

"And how are we getting there?" he asked further, before pausing.

"Were still a few days away. I could probably cut that by a day and a half if i flew" he closed his eyes and stopped.

Ryker snapped his fingers when the potion was mentioned.

"Ah, right. Forgot that." he admitted.

"Well, then nevermind." he said with a light chuckle... but he stopped when Eke said his name, but then dismissed it.

"Eh?" he muttered.

"There something up?" he asked.

"You know you can talk to me about anything." he added.

"I'm not gonna force you, but don't feel like you gotta hold anything back."

Ryker was silent for a moment, blinking once or twice, before he broke out in a wide smirk.

"A girl?" he asked.

"Then go for it, man." he said, lightly tapping Eke's cheek with his fist.

"Seriously, you find a gal you like, and likes ya back, go for it." he insisted.

"The love of a good woman is a rare treasure in this world."

"Do we lose our little family dynamic?" he sighed.

He then perked up. "Hey ryker."

He looked over. "If i have a kid or something will you...be their godfather then?"

Ryker looked to be genuinely shocked for a moment, before he smiled again.

"Of course." he replied.

"I'd be honoured to." he told him.

"And don't you worry about our little family dynamic." he went on. "We're brothers, we're bros, and that's never gonna change." he assured him.

"If I ever find someone and have a kid, promise me you'll be THEIR godfather, too." he then added.

Eke stopped walking.

"Ryker...im honored but..." he looked down.

"Dont you think its a bit...pointnless for me to be anyones godfather?"

He pointed to his chest. "My heart isnt exactly going to keep me alive long enough to survive you..."

His voice broke midsentence. It was a concept he knew was coming at some point but it still hurt.

"It might be optimistic, but it's NOT hoping against a certainty." he continued.

"For all we know, something could happen that prevents your fate from happening." he went on.

"We don't know for sure what will happen until it's happened."

"There's a chance of it."' he said.

"And I'm not saying to not plan for your passing." he then said.

"All I'm saying is that nothing is 100% certain. Sometimes people stubbornly live well past a grimly short prognosis." he reasoned with a small shrug.

"But people are different." he said.

"I tend to let life carry me along in the drift."

"Okay you want to fly?" he looked like he wanted nothing more than to fly.

"And your right, i need to try my hardest to live past 30, not accept my doomed fate"
