"...." Hal was silent, before sighing.

"I see." he said.

"Still. Good work." he told her. "The goal of the mission was to rescue Rebecca and bring her to safety, and you did." he went on.

"The fact that he escaped is unfortunate, but he cannot hide forever." he reasoned.

"So. Excellent work." he said further.

"...though it IS worrisome that he was able to slip away from you." he then admitted.

"He's not one to be underestimated, that's for sure."

"I'll say tha tmuch, definitely. " She agreed with a nod.

"But Rebecca seems to be fine. Levi's a bit overwhelmed." She then said. "But I don't think there will be any lasting damage for either."

He sighed in response.

"Good." he said.

"I'll call that a rousing success." he said further.

"Now. Given that the global situation is calming down, I will be loosening lockdown, and eventually ending it." he told her.

"Do you want to leave now?" he asked.

"If so, I will grant you some time off to recuperate from this, even though you mentioned it would not take long." he continued.

"Essentially, what do you want to do from here?" he asked further.

"I just want to lock myself away somewhere I can be alone and ride this pain out." Roxie answered honestly.

"I don't know what he did. I don't know how he did it. But he just... It almost felt like he may have fired my own mana back at me in such a way it ignited everything and focused it all into my head. To say it hurts... it's an understatement. A mortal may not survive it." She added.

"So yeah. I don't care if it's here or home. I just need to lock myself away somewhere and ride this out."

"Then feel free to head to your home." Hal told her.

"Take as much time as you need." he said.

"Excellent work, Agent Culverton." he finished.

"Dismissed." he then said.

'Well, that's ONE piece of good news...' he thought.

'Now I can stop worrying about one less thing.' he thought further with a small sigh, sitting back down in his chair.

Roxie nodded.

"Thanks." She said simply before vanishing from where she was, leaving a definite hint of the realm she passed through for a few seconds after she left, leaving him alone.

There was silence as she looked at her reflection. The attack had left a good amount of damage, and she had a few new scars from the ordeal - physical that is. She just sighed, heavily as she looked herself from head to toe.

"Well then." She muttered before shaking her head. She made her way to the door and made sure it was locked before tapping the end of her staff on the floor, causing leaves to come up and swallow her.

She appeared outside of the front door of the house she was aiming to be at and knocked, wondering if who she was looking for was even home.

Thankfully, the one she was looking for was, indeed, there.

The door opened about 10 seconds later, and the man standing there looked stunned.

"...ah..." he stammered.

"Oh..." he said, almost choking on his words.

He then stepped forward and resisted the urge to throw himself at her in a hug.

"Well. You're looking well." he commented.

"...relatively speaking, anyway."

"But I'm alive, and as well as I can be considering what had happened." She added.

"Care to invite me in? or are you going to leave your sister on the front step?" She asked with a laugh.

He shook his head quickly, and stepped out of the way.

"Please, please, come in." he said.

"Do you want something to drink?" he asked.

"Tea or something else?" he offered further.

"Also, some biscuits were just made if you'd like some of those as well." he added.

"You look as though you've recovered amazingly well, though." he then added.

"I had the medics at the council taking care of me. Of course I'm doing well." She commented with a laugh as she stepped inside.

"And some tea would be loely." She added.

"I am sorry about ... well... all of that." She continued with a sigh. "No one expected someone to be able to get through the defenses at the council. Turns out... was someone working within."

The man narrowed his eyes, closing the door behind him.

"I see." he said.

"Have they found out who?" he asked.

"Because I'd like to have a discussion with them." he told her.

"...yes, a discussion." he repeated.

"See if they can explain themselves properly." he went on.

"Justify their actions." he continued, his voice more than a little darker now.

"As far as I have been told... they've already been sentenced." She told him honestly.

"so, Vincent? Sadly, you missed your chance. I wasn't even made aware either." She aded. "I didn't find out until Rene told me offhandedly."

"I see." he said.

"Lovely." he muttered.

"Well, there's still the matter of the one that attacked Jaden and Desiree." he then commented.

"They still need to be found." he went on.

"...I wonder how they're doing..." he added quietly.

When Hal returned home hours later, the first thing he noticed was that lights were on, yet it was empty. Or at least seemed it at first glance. At least it was easy to believe it was Lunet having come home... but the place was silent, and she texxted him earlier to say she was going to Cain's.

That left a question.

who the hell was there?

Along with that, there was .... something tasty in the hair. He could smell... something, but couldn't place it. It smelled a bit meaty, and absolutely delicious, though.

"......eh?" Hal muttered, clearly confused.

He sniffed the air again, and started to make his way to the source of the delectable aroma.

"I don't know what's going on here..." he mumbled. "But at least it SMELLS good..." he admitted.

"Hello?" he called out.

"Lunet, you home?" he asked further.

It was all he could think of at the moment, before reaching his apparent destination; the dining room.

When he reached the dining room, he saw that there was a plate of food sitting there. Upon checking it, he saw sweet potato fries, with a wrap. When he split the wrap at the cut, he saw it was a chicken ceasar wrap. Upon closer inspection, he noticed the sauce on there. It wasn't much of anything, but the red flecks within madehim think of one person. She always did her sauce for wraps like that.

The red was ancho chile flecks, something he really didn't get often.

"......" he was silent again, before tasting the sauce and confirming they were, in fact, ancho chiles.

"Oh, my..." he said.

He then blinked a couple of times, and looked around.

"...Holiie?" he muttered.

"Wait... Hollie?" he then asked, looking around some more.

"Hollie, are you here?" he called out.

'...did the wish work...?' he then thought.

When he looked around, he saw her leaning in the doorway.

"Hey." She said simply once they locked eyes.

"I know you had something to do with my recovery." She then said, her tone almost accusational, "but thank you. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have made it otherwise, if I'm being honest."
