@Evilcupcakecat: That's understandable. I personally don't like the gym much as a general rule, but it can be hard to self-motivate sometimes - especially when the weather doesn't want to cooperate. What kind of outside exercising do you usually do when the weather isn't trying to freeze you?

@shadami: I need to start yoga again too. It has been far too long since I've done a class. Do you usually go to a gym or yoga studio, or follow a video in your house?

Good morning, BTW!

I'm cold and hungry so far this morning (neither of which is my normal- lol!) but the coffee is helping a little on both counts, so that's something! :3

My day today consists of going to the grocery and finding food for the next two days, as well as veggies and other little details for Christmas. I also need to finish the laundry I started yesterday, do some general cleaning up around the house, and hopefully do some more playing with my tablet and doing some artwork. I also want to clean out my studio area and get it back in to a workable space, but that may not happen today.

What are your days looking like today?
Does anyone have anything interesting on their schedule for today?

Random question for the day ----> What was the best thing before sliced bread?

so how is that likely to play out, do you think? Will he be the one actually closing and not able to count or do anything or will you do what needs to be done?

Not sure. I'm luckily not out front the whole time, I'll be scanning in the back. But he closed with the boss Monday night. So hopefully he's learned what to do better.

You can hope!!
So other than having to close with somebody unaccustomed to it, and a few other little snafus, how are you liking the job?

LOL - yes, I can see where that would be a good thing!
How about the job itself? Are you enjoying it?

I like it fine. Books. But also very demanding and exhausting.

Well yes, that was kind of the point of my question. And some jobs are much more exhausting for folks than others. -shrugs- Eh - at least you have a job now, right?

Yep.

Mostly the rough bits are being the only person in the front. Which means not only do I clean, price, and shelve the books. But do the hourly cleaning, AND have to do register too. I can't leave the front without me for very long. Keep folks for stealing and to ring customers up.

what you think it is.

Yes, it makes sense that you would need to have somebody at front most of the time for various reasons. So is that what you usually do or what you will be doing today?

Today I'm in the front til 3:30pm then I switch to the back and scan books. But having just one person in front is stupid.

Yes, I would think that you'd want to have at least two people up front at all times. Is management trying to limit people because of covid or is it a fiscal consideration? Do you know?

They may not be able to, depending on overall expenses, etc.
