Ash was silent and still for a few seconds after Rowena left, before falling to his side and getting into a sort of fetal position.

"Lindsay..." he said quietly.

"No..." he whispered.

"She... I didn't think she'd kill him..." he went on.

"Guess he was deemed a failure, too." he mumbled.

He then just started to cry and sob right there.

Rylie was quick to make her way over to Ashley before just pulling him up and against her, holding him close. She couldn't truly understand what loss felt like, but she did realise and understand that what he needed right now was some comfort.

Good thing we can stay here for a bit. She thought as she just held the teen (who still looked younger than he was) close.

She didn't say anything though, as she had nothing to say. Everything she could think of, she thought would come off as callous or whatever.

Ash responded by grabbing onto her tightly.

He held her close and dared not to let go.

As he did, the tears flowed freely, and he let it all out in a burst of emotional devastation.

However, it was relatively short-lived.

The excitement, fear, and tension from meeting his mother, alongside the bomb that just been dropped on him about his brother, combined with the earlier expulsion of mana... it had been too much for him.

He passed out and fell asleep in Rylie's arms.

Rylie had put Ash to bed a few hours prior, before making her way downstairs again. She was sure Azazel had questions, and she knew she owed him them. Along with that, she honestly felt she needed a drink herself.

She got downstairs and sighed lightly as she saw it wasn't Az manning the front desk.

"Yo. I need a hard drink, spicey and hard. Hit me whatever." She said. "And the bossman."

The one that was there was silent, before sighing.

"Got it." he replied.

He then whipped up something for her... something that was clear, but dark.

"House speciality. Made by the boss himself." he told her.

"Call's it "Hell's Nectar." he said.

"Anyway, I'll go get him for you." he finished.

He then excused himself, and went to find Azazel.

Rylie paused a moment before taking a small taste of what it was that and chuckling.

"Nectar? Good way to put it." She muttered before sighing as she leaned against the bar for a moment. She didn't say there long before going and sitting down somewhere that was relatively secluded, knowing that Azazel could find her rather easily.

By the time he found her, she was almost staring into the drink, obviously thinking about what it was that had happened - even if he didn't know exactly what was going through her head.

Azazel just sighed as he saw her, and looked around.

It seemed most people had put whatever had happened past them, and either dismissed it as imagination, or something else.

'...least there's that.' he thought.

He then made his way to Rylie, and sat down across from her.

"Hey." he greeted her.

"Sooooo, that happened." he said.

"Looking back on it, it's unsurprising."

Rylie met Azazel's gaze before sighing.

"Found out his brother is dead." She told him simply.

"Hence the rune. Was caused by the sudden influx that he received. Apparently Fyrane twins are connected in such a way that when one dies, the other gets the mana." She explained.

"But... yeah. After that rollercoaster, he's asleep. Has been for a bit now."

"I see." he said.

"Seems the Fyrane line really are interwoven with each other." he commented.

"Not even I knew THAT bit of info." he admitted.

"...but poor kid. His brother's dead?" he asked.

"That is going to take a toll. Especially as young as he is." he went on.

"You think you'll be able to help him and deal with him?" he asked her.

Azazel looked away for a moment, before placing a hand on her shoulder.

"Rylie..." he said.

"I realise this has to be hard, to massive understate it." he commented.

"But... yeah, all I can say is... try."' he told her.

"Just follow your gut. You're a good person." he continued.

"I'm sure you'll do fine." he went on, before pausing.

"Right now? Just be with him." he then said.

"Show him he's not alone in this world, more than anything else right now."

"I know... Just... I know. I just have no idea waht the hell it is that I am supposed to do here." She added.

"Never once believed I'd take in a child, nevermind a Fyrane child." She added before downing about half of what she was given.

"By the way, nectar is about right with this mix."

"Oh?" he asked.

"In what way?" he inquired.

"I'm trying to find the right balance between sweet and spicey." he continued.

"But I think I may have overdone it with the sugars." he then admitted.

"But yeah... just... do your best, Rylie." he finished quietly.

"Yes, that IS my intention with the name. Like the equivalent of it, yes." he confirmed.

"However, I also know that nectar can refer to something very sweet." he added with a shrug as well.

"But it's tasty? Good." he said.

"I'll have to remember that mix, then." he commented, before smirking.

"Do you know how many mortals have tried it, thinking they could handle it?" he then asked with a bit of a cruel smirk.
