"We just drifted a bit, I suppose." he said.

"Plus, I live in the ocean. Hard to keep up with those that live on land." he admitted.

"Regardless, that's about it." he went on.

"Why are you crossing the ocean?" he asked.

"More specifically, what's on the other continent? Besides your home city." he clarified.

". . . well, that would make things difficult, yeah." Callie agreed in response to his comment regarding living in the water and on land.

"As for why I'm here... well we - as in Adym and I - were told that we should be on this ship. Admittedly, not sure we were ever given more details that that, but ... we were directed here, so here we are." She told him honestly.

"No idea what's going to happen once off the ship though."

"Well, if you don't mind, I'll tag along with you." he said.

"We cruxes clumping together may be a big target, but it's a lot of power." he went on.

"We'll give anyone a run for their money." he chuckled.

"Especially you." he said further.

"Your power is pretty strong." he commented.

Callie paused before chuckling nervously.

"Eh-heh... that... I don't know." She admitted.

"See, that's part of what I lost." She then said.

"I mean, I knowI can do something, but ... I don't really have much in terms of control, or much access even, really."

"Hopefully you can either remember it again or relearn it." Kai mumbled.

"Because your power IS something special." he said.

"Or, rather, you really had a knack for it." he clarified.

"My goodness, your father was so proud of you." he went on, pausing for a moment.

"We used to combine my water and your ice, and make huge ice slides that were really slippy and we used them to barrel into pools and oh boy..." he continued, reminiscing a bit.

"Those were more carefree days, I suppose..." he then added quietly.

"I'm detmined. This'll return to the more carefree world that people have said it was." Callie commented, her voice sure.

"Just... gonna take some effort from me and anyone else who wants to help." She added after a couple of seconds.

"Anyway, would you like to meet Adym? He would likely be interested in knowing that there is another who is interested in helping." She then said, keeping her terms not so obvious as to what they were talking out, just in case someone unsavoury were to be listening in.

Kai nodded in response.

"Heh." he chuckled.

"THERE'S the confidence I knew you had." he said. "Guess that's one thing that can never be taken away from you." he commented.

"And yeah, sure, I'll meet this Adym." he told her.

"The more, the merrier." he reasoned.

He then got up and brushed himself off, sighing quietly.

"Oh, and don't worry if I sometimes just disappear." he told her.

"That'll just be me going for a swim."

Callie nodded as she got to her feet and stretched.

"Let's go then. I think he's down in our cabin." She then said. "And good to know on the whole vanishing thing."

They walked in silence for the most part, but as Callie bumped shoulders with someone who continued on, she paused, turning and watching them walk away from her, something akin to surprise and confusion in her features for a moment. It wasn't until Kai flicked her shoulder a bit that she shook her head.

"Right, let's go." She said. "And that... I thought I saw someone, but I swear I was mistaken. Lost them in the crowd, anyway."

Kai raised an eyebrow when she said that.

"Eh?" he mumbled.

"Saw someone?" he asked.

"Uh... all right..." he went on, looking around, though he wasn't sure for WHAT.

"Anyway, let's get moving." he agreed, as they continued to walk.

Meanwhile, the one that had bumped shoulders with Callie spared her a quick glance... before seemingly sighing heavily, and continuing on their way.

They managed to get down to where her and Adym were without any other issues. She knocked before opening the door and stepping in.

'Hey Adym." She said after a few seconds.

"We have company." She added as she motioned for Kai to follow her in.

Adym looked over, and watched at Kai entered.

"...ah, you're the one that was making a ruckus earlier." he said.

"Guilty." Kai admitted.

"..." Adym was then silent, before looking Kai up and down.

"You... are like us, aren't you?" he asked.

"Hence why you brought him here, Callie?" he then asked Callie.

"That's exactly it." Callie agreed as she took a seat.

"Kai, Adym. There' ya go, introductions." She said with a light laugh before pausing.

". . . although I can't say I know much about Kai. Although he claims I should."

Kail was silent, and sighed.

"She doesn't remember me, even though we were kids together." he said.

"....yeah." Adym mumbled.

"I'm fairly certain Vyran is responsible for that. But I'm not sure HOW." he went on.

He then looked at Callie.

"By the way..." he said, trailing off some.

"How's your head?" he asked her.

"Kai here helped me with that." She added simply.

"Which.... was one hell of a relief, to be honest."

"Yeah." Kai responded.

"Seems that was just her 'crux sense' going off, telling her that the crux she was connected to was nearby." he told him. "In this case, well... me." he clarified.

"Oh! I see." Adym replied.

"Well, that's good." he said, before pausing.

"...wait a moment..." he mumbled.

"I'VE been feeling the same way since I got on the ship..."

"Meaning there's another one around here somewhere." She commented.

"I have no idea where, or who, or which, but... seems there's another on here." She paused a moment before sighing lightly.

"Is there any way we can find out?" She asked, fully aware that it would likely be something that wouldn't be answerable for the moment.

Kai shook his head.

"Not really." he replied.

"If the one that he's connected to IS on the ship, then all he can do is 'follow his sense' as it gets more intense, until he can reasonably tell who they are." he went on.

"Sadly, there's not even a way to tell which crux he's connected to, in terms of 'element' or whatever." he continued.

"It's always just such a vague feeling and stuff." he added with a shrug and a sigh.

"Interesting..." Adym mumbled.

"I may need to wander about this ship, see if I can hone in on who it is." he told them, thinking about it.

"Yeah, might be best for you to do so while we're here." She agreed with a light sigh.

"I wonder how many of us are here though." She mused. "I guess we know why it is that it was stressed to catch this one."

"Yourself, Kai, me... a mysterious fourth one..." he went on.

"Now I really AM wondering how many cruxes are on this ship." he said.

"Heh." Kai chuckled.

"It really IS kind of neat." he admitted.

"Regardless, it might not be perfect, but I'm glad I finally get to see you again, Callie." he then said to the young woman.

"I'm glad you're not... well... dead."

"As... far as I know Dad is though." Callie said with a light sigh.

"I ... honestly don't know why I think that though." She added with a shake of her head.

"It's part of the bullshit that happened with my head." She added as an explanation before sighing, again.

"Regardless, at least we're here and alive for the moment." She said with a smile, sincerity in her voice. There was sadness there too, though. She didn't remember him properly, just know that there was a history between them... and it was eating her up inside.
