@Koah: At one point yesterday I had a heating pad on my back and an ice pack on my neck (I strained it or something a few days ago and it's all stiff and achy too). And right? Just because you had kids doesn't mean you get to order anyone else around. On a freaking power trip.

@Wildfire: If she'd kept me any longer I would have started shouting. She was too busy flirting with some guy across the store to get her stupid butt out the door. I did respond to the hand with an incredulous "No!?" but then she physically stepped in front of my cart with her "I don't care!" comment (which doesn't... super make sense in context but okay). I'm just glad she did actually go out the door then.

God just thinking about it makes me mad again! XD;

As for bringing up my pain to my doctor, that's ... honestly pretty pointless or so it seems. I tried to tell him the last visit, maybe the last two visits, that my gabapentin dosage just isn't cutting it and he pretty much just waved me off. I think I need to be more assertive but my environment growing up was extremely punishing for having a backbone at all so I'm not very good at it I guess. ^^;

OH and I totally ran into a freaking Karen at the grocery store. First and foremost, roommate and I both watched these two little hellspawn running around the front of the grocery store and screaming at each other, climbing around on displays and shit. That was bad enough. Then when I got to the doorway, in substantial pain by that point, she and said hellspawn were standing in the ONLY exit doorway. She was unwrapping ice cream for the brats and trying to get someone's attention across the damn store, and when I finally got fed up and tried to go around her, she put her hand up at my face and ordered, "Wait."

Like EXCUSE ME? You have no right to keep me or anyone else from leaving the store while you're screwing around, let alone ordering another grown adult around like one of your kids. Either get your ass THROUGH THE DOOR or get out of the way.

In astonishment, I said "no" and tried to go through the door anyway and she physically blocked me from doing so, snapping "I don't care."

I may have called her a name under my breath when I finally got outside. -__-

I was livid for like an hour afterwards and I'm honestly still angry at her gall.

Man I think I need to put a heating pad on my neck for a while tonight. My neck has been so stiff for several days now, so much so that I can't pop it to relieve pressure as I normally would, and it just suuucks.

Also my back started hurting so bad at the grocery store that I nearly cried when we got home. And it hurt on the other side from my usual trouble spot. Which is just great. And on top of that I'm out of ibuprofen and tylenol doesn't do squat for me. So there's that.

I'm tired of pain.

@Wildfire: Oh my gosh that's scary! I'm glad he's okay.

Americans do seem to have a hard time grasping the concept of roundabouts. ^^;;;

@Wildfire: Finding transport for all the horses, moving and hanging gates, food, hay, buckets, et cetera, and all on a time crunch; it's certainly an ordeal! I don't envy her that at all, lol.

Yes, I'm doing much better today!

How are you doing? :)

@Wildfire: I haven't had a reaction to the weather like that before but I don't know what else could have made my pain get so bad. Ian didn't affect me like that. Maybe because it came from the other direction? I really don't know. ^^;

And yeah, she had to evacuate her horse and several of the others (the others were handled by other people) during Ian, which was a huge to-do. I'm glad she didn't have to do that this time at least.

I had one of my worst-ever pain episodes last night. Like I was almost in tears, everything hurt and hurt so bad, and medicine wasn't even helping. I nearly burst into tears trying to get a water bottle open because it hurt my hand so much. I finally managed to doze off for a little bit and that seemed to reset things a bit, and I've been okay for the most part today except for a headache that I couldn't get rid of until recently, so that I kept napping today because I couldn't really do much else. I'm really wondering if it was at all related to the weather. I seem to be doing a lot better at the moment; hopefully it stays that way.

@Wildfire: Lol yeah, my roommate has a horse and helps take care of several others where she boards hers, so she has no choice but to go out in the weather as well. At least it's more or less past by now!

Reminds me I need to put the recycling out though. o3o;;

@Wildfire: Just woke up, surprised to find my bedroom window isn't even wet. I guess it's blowing the other direction, lol.

Just got a text from my roommate that the dog is refusing to go out, lmao. I can't say I blame him.

Catching up on the morning storm news at the moment via Spectrum Bay News 9. Handily I can watch that on my computer!

How's things with you?

Roommate talked me into making (from a box) brownies, lol, since she got done at the barn and home and we got done with dinner so early. Yay brownies!

Although my back hurts a lot and I was really looking forward to sitting down right after doing the dinner dishes, lol.

She's lucky I'm nice. XD

Oh gosh, yeah, fuel is important! And oh god yes the stupid drivers--we had someone in a pickup in front of us waiting to make a left turn who just... sat there. For a REALLY long time. Roommate finally honked, someone behind us--a line was forming--honked, but the guy seemed to think there needed to be no one approaching at all for as far down the road as we could see before he could make his u-turn.

Fortunately that was the dumbest we encountered, but we also weren't out long, lol.

I'm doing okay. Trying to remind myself that this storm isn't nearly as bad as Ian was but I think after that storm I'm a little spooked. ^^;

@wildfire: I do need to stretch more. I warm up in the pool usually before biking and I think that helps some, but I definitely need to incorporate more proper stretching into my routine.

I have an arthritic disc and it's often mad at me, but I've had sciatic type nerve pain recently too down both legs (mostly the right one) and that has really sucked.

Bottom line I really need to get in better shape tbh. XD;;

How are you doing on this blustery day?

God my lower back is mad at me. I'm pretty sure it's because of the strain of the exercise bike on those muscles/my bad disc, but my roommate is just adamant that it's my bed.

I keep pointing out that if it were my bed my back would hurt like this every day. She doesn't listen. Roommate knows best!

Posted in My own roommate locked me out of the house. :I Posted 2 years ago

@Alorrena: I keep my keys on my bedroom doorknob, so they're conveniently near the front door but also serve as an "I am home" sign for the roommate.

Lmao I have managed to sneak out of the house for doctor's appointments and stuff before, only for her to text me offering me breakfast or something (she doesn't like to knock on my door so she texts me instead). The other day I had to ask her if she'd be home when I got home because I ran out to my Lyft in such a rush I forgot my keys or to lock the front door! She didn't even know I'd left yet. XD

@Mathonwy: I've sorta locked the roommate out before but only for a minute or two; she'd just installed a new front doorknob and was testing the lock, so she locked it instead of the deadbolt when she left, without telling me. So, naturally, I went "oh the door's unlocked" and locked the deadbolt. Only to hear her struggle with the lock when she got home because she thought only the knob was locked, lol.

This reminds me, I should get a key made of the new doorknob.. o_o

@GoblinsAndTea: I'm not sure Roomie would go for hiding a key somewhere; she did leave one out for me when I came back from being away for a few days once, but only because I'd had to leave my key with her for some reason or other and only for an hour or two. But I think she's far too worried about people breaking in to do that on a regular basis. And having a package stolen recently, in broad daylight, while we were home, probably hasn't helped. ^^;

Decided to unbox my new blood glucose meter and get it all set up, just in case the storm is worse than expected and I do have to make a break for higher ground... and the dog immediately brought his ball and demanded I take it/throw it.

Meaning I had to carefully put the meter away without touching it because the stupid thing is supposed to stay as sterile as possible.

I love this dog but boy his timing sucks. XD
