These days, no avatar site is really throbbing with activity, sadly.
From my observation, their popularity has steadily declined for the past around ten years.
In fact, most of the ones I've been on in that time period, I can count at least five (though I can't recall some of the names), are entirely gone now.

The abrupt shut down was unbelievable--and ON MY FLIPPIN' BIRTHDAY!
I remember assuming it was just a server issue until I found the announcement on Facebook.

@Another Movie Addict: The thing I was told was that Angel and Buffy have sex under Twilight influence and it births a new universe. Sitting here typing it out now I'm still like WTF?! Apparently, it even turned off Buffy/Angel shippers.
