I know all kids grow up at their own pace, but is it wrong for me to want some of them to grow up a liiiittle bit faster?

@Alyssya: Its called Ezri and the Apple Tree. Its all in rhyme and the story goes like this: A little boy named Ezri had an apple tree with lots of big, sweet apples, he loved them so much he wouldn't share them with anyone. Because of this he was always alone and no other kids would play with him. One day his mom has a talk with him about how he has been given gifts and gifts are meant to be shared. So he gives it a shot and finds out he actually loves sharing when he sees how grateful people are. That old man in the picture lives alone and it was his birthday so Ezri brought him an apple pie. In the end he makes lots of friends and he isn't lonely any more.

I confess that I might be turning into an old fart. I have lost patience with competitive games and prefer to play games that are more stimulating for my mind. I find competitive games to be chasing your tail and running around in circles with no real progression. Why get skilled at something that doesn't mean anything when you could be bettering yourself in other ways? The toxic communities make it hard to enjoy the game and it might even be making me a worse person instead of better. Sure you can convince yourself you are above it all, but when you surround yourself with all of it for multiple hours a day its hard to not let it become a part of you and how you interact with the world.

@Apollo Im Burning: I'm currently using my sketchbook as a pallette for mixing powdered pastels. If I flip the page all the powders go *poof* why is traditional so messsyyy :vanora_cry: adding another sketchbook on my table full of tools and papers is also a pain in the butt. So I gotta be a good girl and focus on one thing at a time haha.

@Alyssya: Mhmm history is written by the victors. Same kinda discrepancies in books about world war 2. Thanks for sharing your book with me I will do a quick read.

Sorry about my book, the company I worked for is kinda small and they only released a printed version. I can share a couple of the drawings I made though. Its about a boy learning to share.

@Moodybats: Thank you for the well wishes!!

@Apollo Im Burning: I am glad the links help you. I think there is something different with the way the camera captures every detail while the eye captures only the important information. The upside of photos is you are not panicked to draw fast before the model moves but its also a crutch that holds you back from speeding up and lets you get caught up in the details.

Haha yes I am super passionate about learning and improving. Its not weird at all! You are inspiring me to draw too! I was considering sneaking another page of models in between work today. For me the biggest deterrent is putting away the traditional tools I use for work and pulling out my tablet and then putting away the tablet and pulling out all the traditional tools again.

@Apollo Im Burning: Sure, you can post it on the front page if you wanna. I would be honored if you did.
I work from a couple of websites because they have handy dandy timers. Though I do have a library on my computer in case my internet goes down.

For 60 sec sketches I use:
senshistock.com (even though she is clothed she has alot of variety)
reference.sketchdaily.net
quickposes.com
line-of-action.com
posemaniacs.com (very stiff but you get to see the anatomy beneath, not recommended for practicing fluidity)

For color studies:
theatlasofbeauty.com
film-grab.com
(or basically pause your favorite movie. Good directors plan their lighting, framing and colors really well)

Master Studies

I dream of working from live models! When I am out and about I try to sketch people around me. Its difficult cos they move so much, but I love doing it. I wanna capture their lifelikeness if that makes sense. I wanna practice making believeable people with weight, life and character.

@Alyssya: My husband says that statistics is difficult, he studied it on college. We both love history and geography though so maybe you could share some of the american history you learn since I only know abit of european and asian history.

My days are spent doing art mostly. I do portrait art, some work for voltra, plus any digital art commissions I get. (mostly DnD characters) Its very little pay but rewarding to get paid for practicing your craft. I do enjoy it alot. Oh, and when I have some free time I illustrate children's books too. I do plan on going to school sometime soon to learn the Croatian language so I can find a 9 to 5 job to support my family better. (I immigrated to croatia to marry my husband, the language is pretty difficult)
