@ghost: it's the best.
My brother just recently played a half orc named Gronk. He's a rogue . With low some important skill stealth I believe it was.
He was introducing his character and someone said something about Gronk and he just turns and screams at him "YOU NO SEE GRONK" then rolled an intimidation roll instead of a stealth roll

I've played the "you wake up in a strange place" with my daughters. It's wonderful. It teaches them genre, adjectives, and verbs. XD and only uses 1d6 (3d6? I'm sick forgive my memory xD)so it's super simple.
No one even the dm comes prepared it's all made up on the spot and it was a ton of fun

Yes the world is still fantasy. We have a wild party too xD. A water genasi, a tabaxi, a tortle, a human knight with a dragon wyrm mount, an elf cleric who wanders around looking at nature instead of healing, and a couple others but that alone can give you an idea of the wildness of the party xD

You just have to get a group that likes tabletop games and say here's something cool too.
There are some solo adventures that I really want to get ahold of when I can get some money again. >.< Like a western one where you are an outlaw who leaves poems on the bodies. Like "guys I may be a killer but I'm really deep and broken here's my story. Stop hunting me"
And I know that's a horrible description but when I heard about it I wanted it xD

What could be fun for beginners is just trying an easier tabletop game.
Lazers and feelings is a nice simple one with limited dice rolling and more heavily on the rp and fun.
And you wake up in a strange place is also a really simple one that is meant for a group of 4 and is a one shot play in a 2-3 hour game.

I was planning to clean my bathroom today to. All I did was one load of laundry instead. XD blech fevers suck. Mild one but enough to make me ugh.
I currently don't reeeaaaaly have a dnd group.
I'm also teaching my daughter's so my current actual sessions group is my husband and oldest two.

I've... Technically played this year?!? Sorta.
I'm dming a campaign on the Sims forums. A bunch of players made their players and characters in the Sims 4 , cc allowed. And I put them in my game. We had various little calls on discord to get their character sheets made and I have them all in a folder saved.
I will write a chapter up using the answers to the prompts I give them before the chapter and mine or their dice rolls if they're available to roll themselves and interact as I write. I also use my knowledge of their characters back stories and such to do what I can. Then give them the next chapter and new prompts.

I think I usually end up playing as zoey because... Lol I'm a girl and I tend to play with a majority of guys. And my friend takes biker jacket guy.
My memory of names is abysmal I'm surprised I remembered zoey

Currently I have almost a complete collection of dragon magazines it stopped printing in... 2010???
A bunch of polyhedron. White dwarf, and dungeons.

I can draw rectangles. That's how I draw robots. They all 2d and flat front views. Lmao
Actually I'm not sure if I've ever drawn a robot besides 2d ones. Aka since I got better at art then my 10 year old self.
