That's interesting! I've read FMA, but I don't think I would necessarily think that a cat named Alphonse was named after the FMA character. I guess it doesn't seem like an uncommon enough name. On the other hand I knew someone with pets named like Sirius, Hermione, and such. In that case I made an immediate connection to Harry Potter.
