I'm confused. What item is there a 3% chance of getting?

@buggaboy: yeah i gotta do all the things
but didgeridoo has been something i've wanted to learn since childhood so one day i will definitely at least have to own one. learning it, however, may be a different matter... but we'll see.

i wish i could do a lot of things, but my current living situation doesn't afford me the money, space, or peace of mind to take up any new hobbies or activities. so the list of things i wish i could do just keeps growing until I am finally able to move out.
-play an instrument (banjo and didgeridoo are at the top of my list)
-make soap
-make candles and incense
-make jewelry
-make miniatures, fairy gardens, terrariums, etc
-sculpt
-paint
-roller skate
-make props/decorations
-do voice acting
-dance
-compose music
-speak multiple languages
-do animation
-make comics
-practice magic
-gardening
-build/refurbish things
-do face paint/fx makeup
-make masks and costumes
-aquascaping
-landscaping
-taxidermy
-make balloon animals
and pretty much anything else i see that interests me. I want to do/try everything. Maybe if I get lucky, I'll at least be able to cross some of it off my list one of these days.

I love that we're finally getting a little bit of facial hair, but I MuStAcHe why it layers over noses. Not much fun having fancy new mustaches and noses to play with and being unable to use them together!
Similarly, I noticed this with the nosebleed pose in Jawbreaker, but forgot to ask about it. The blood layers over noses rather than under them and idk if that's intentional but it makes it hard to use with anything other than the bandages as a nose.

So after getting jerked around for 2 days by people acting like they have no idea why I'm not on the schedule any more and passing me off on someone else, then not calling me when they said they would and me having to call them, I finally got an "answer" from someone at work. Apparently they don't need so many seasonal people after all and are cutting hours in my department, so instead of just scheduling me less and/or giving me other work, "They'll call you if/when they need you". AKA I'll probably never hear from them again, and if I do, it'll be too little too late.
I took this stupid job expecting that I'd be kept busy during the season and, if all went well, I'd be kept on permanently when it was all done. And if they didn't need me or just didn't freaking like me after the season was out, they wouldn't ask me to stay. No big loss. Then if I did get asked to stay, I might chance asking about getting a more stable schedule, learning other departments, etc.
But no. Not only did they never train me on register like they claimed they wanted every new hire to do, but now they don't even have the courtesy to properly let me go when they decide either they don't need me any more or I'm just not good enough for them, or whatever. They'd rather CONTINUE to string me along, talking to me as though I still have a job, but not actually giving me any work. Surely they don't think I'm just gonna sit around doing nothing until January hoping they'll call me in one or two more days before it's all over. I just don't get it. If you don't want me there, say so. Call me into the damn office and tell me you're laying me off, firing me, whatever the hell you gotta do. The season is not over; you can't possibly be totally out of work for me to do, especially when I could have been trained to go on register. You always need cashiers, but you'd rather send me home when the carts are done than send me somewhere else. God forbid you have a reason to pay me, I guess.
And what really burns me is the way I was treated prior to this nonsense: barely trained at all, literally my second day on the job and being griped at about not being fast enough when I haven't had the chance to learn where every item in the store is or how everything works yet. Having completely unrealistic goals (locate every item in under a minute, knowing full well that a surprisingly large number of items aren't actually on the floor or have been moved without notice and thus have to be hunted for and confirmed not to be found?? seriously?) and never offering anything helpful when I ask how to make it go faster.
"Well the main reason this cart took longer than you wanted was because the order was all clothing, and none of the clothing sections are labeled. Is there an easier way to find them than just hunting through the items by brand and department?"
"Nope."
well gee, THANKS. Then half the damn things aren't even put out yet at all, yet you tell me I HAVE to look for them, check the surrounding areas, and then only if I'm absolutely sure I can't find them, I still have to wait for a supervisor to look them up in the system and/or look for them on the floor themself before entering 'can't find'. But sure, tell me how I'm supposed to be finding each one in about 30 seconds... So basically y'all got frustrated that new hires couldn't do the impossible, but instead of helping them, moving them to another area, or just having the courtesy to let them go, you think the best option is to... string them along for days, "no idea why you're no longer on the schedule, we'll totally get back to you on that" and when you can't give them the slip that way, just give some BS about how "we'll call you when we want you to come work".
christ almighty
even walmart wasn't this bad. close, really really close... but at least they actually did the layoff, even if they did give me a BS excuse to go with it.
I wish my last job had been permanent. Even with the low pay, I loved going there and always felt like I could talk freely with the managers and get answers when I needed them.
But I think this might be the last time I try to do seasonal work anywhere, 'cause it is just not worth it.

It depends on what you realistically expect to get out of hosting the contest. Are there a lot of active artists on the site who might join a contest? Do you expect to get some fairly high-quality art? The nature of your request will also be a factor; based on what you see most frequently being offered in art shops or shown in galleries on the site, how many of the active artists do you think would be interested in drawing what you're looking for? Prizes make a difference, too, of course, but you don't want to set out the huge rewards unless you expect an equally good return.
100k seems like a perfectly good first place prize for an art contest in theory, given the average going price for high quality art on the site and the fact that it is a contest, meaning the top prize should be worth more than what they'd get just from selling in a shop. But if you don't expect a lot of higher-level entrants, lowering it and having more, smaller prizes would probably be a safer bet. 75k is still pretty high, higher than anything most art shops would charge for a typical piece, and would still draw people in.
edit: Adding small "participation prizes" for all who enter can also be a good idea. I used to do this when I hosted contests on another site, as I didn't want anyone to work for free (even so that is just the nature of contests), and it gave more incentive for less confident artists to join.

I have tried going into my settings to change the site theme, because it's mid-December and as much as I love Halloween, I'm ready to shed the Trick-or-Treat theme already. But it hasn't gone anywhere, nor does choosing one of the other themes from the drop-down menu change it. Whenever I hit "Save Changes", it tells me my password is incorrect--regardless of whether I enter my password into the "current password" field beside "change password". I do not want to change my password; I just want to change the site theme. Am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug?

Bruh that's disgusting. I had a cough drop that was only 1-2 years old and that was enough to make it inedible. Soft and sticky with a weird texture, no thanks. The ancient cherry Sucrets of unknowable age have honestly fared much better, but those are only for dire emergencies.

I don't have it; I only sort of recently started using DA again and don't do much with it besides occasionally posting art. I can count my watchers on one hand and the only real benefit Core has that would mean much of anything to me is the ability to change your username... which I'm salty about because you didn't used to need Core to do that. So it's basically a minimum 5$ for a name change, which is extravagant. So when I started using DA again, I just made a whole new account instead.

Well, I was "lucky" enough to have stomach pains on Thanksgiving which prevented me from going to that family gathering. But now Christmas is coming up, and I probably won't have any way of escaping that (short of a hospital stay, which I'd rather not since I have work to go to--but probably not on Christmas day, alas) since people will just come here. I should have been moved out years ago, and could have if the person who owns the house I was supposed to be renting hadn't messed it up by hiring cheap. Now it's still not livable and I'm still stuck at Grandma's. And I'm only getting older... But I can't afford rent anywhere else, so what am I supposed to do? Bring on yet another holiday wasted being miserable and stuck in someone else's house, surrounded by people I either barely know or can't stand to be around, all faking nice like everything is normal when it's not and never has been.
Thank you for this thread btw, this is a very good idea.

what is this garbage on my new work schedule? the times are all over the place. get off at 10pm one day, come in at 7am the next?? I'd be lucky to get 6-7 hours of sleep max, given the fact that I don't live in the freaking store and do actually have to take time to drive home, then get my shit together and wind down for bed.. then I gotta wake up and not have time to actually wake up or have breakfast or anything I guess, since I won't get home early enough to go to bed in time to wake up early enough to HAVE time to do anything before rushing out the door. You get penalized for being late, but god forbid you actually have time to sleep or get ready so that you're not late.
I just don't get why they wouldn't give people consistent shifts. Wouldn't it be so much easier to have certain people always working at certain times to make sure things are covered? Instead of this willy-nilly "need somebody for X time, grab any ol' person regardless of what shift they just got done working" bs? Retail I stg, it's like they got monkeys making the schedules. I get the whole "we only care about our money, not your time or health" crap they like to do, but screwing around with people's work-life balance hurts the company, too. Because that's exactly how you get people coming in late, calling in, and/or just not giving a shit about the job they do when they get there.
Hopefully all this raging will be premature and it'll either be a one-time thing or a mistake, and/or the manager will be nice enough to work with me on it and have a more consistent schedule. But regardless of what the case is with this particular job, I've seen enough of it being done at other jobs to be more than a little wary. Guy at my Walmart job was consistently being put on those same back-to-back "get off late/come in early" shifts for months before they finally listened and agreed to fix his schedule.
