I always thought it looked pretty bad, but I was gonna give it a chance just out of curiosity... until I heard their version of "Be Prepared". Then I saw a clip of the Mufasa death scene. wtf is going on over there disney are u ok because holy heck those clips are BAD. Just... everything I've seen about this has been awful.

If you figure out how to do that, let me know, 'cause I'm right there with you. Always something to do and I always seem to be lacking either the time, the energy, or both (usually both) to do it all.

I really hope my "no automatic updates" thing holds up, 'cause it will actually destroy my computer (like, shut it down completely and irreparably if I can't log in fast enough to roll it back and undo the update before it crashes) if it does update again. I've had a couple of scares where it would show me the "update" window out of the blue, but so far it hasn't actually started an update without my permission.
I kinda hate computers, but can't really get by without 'em these days and don't really want to, either. I just want them to be... better.

I don't really encounter many ethical dilemmas outside of the ones connected to everyday living, though I figure those are more than enough.
Eat things you know are bad for the environment and your body, spend more than you can afford and risk running out of money, or just don't eat enough to get through the day? Great choices. Throwing things that could be recycled into the garbage because recycling isn't available and you don't have the time, space, or energy to collect it yourself and take it to the nearest recycling facility (seriously, does anyone do that?). Work for a huge corporation that screws over employees, destroys small businesses, and sells products that support all manner of unethical practices... or don't have a job because those big corporations are your only option if you want to be able to put that food that's so bad for the environment on your table and live another day? Even so you're still not gonna be able to pay rent no matter what. "Better than nothing" is the default state of being. Doing things you wish you didn't have to because you have no other option is all there is. Is it even a dilemma at this point, when there's not really any alternative?
When it comes to things I have some form of control over, I don't really have many issues. I'm sure I've had to make hard decisions before, but I generally know what I'm doing is the right thing for me and anyone else potentially involved, so it doesn't feel like an ethical problem. But for the things I'm trapped with that I know are wrong and have no say in? That's an everyday struggle that I just have to tune out until I have the means to do something about any of it.

yikes. At least it could have been worse, I guess? Not that there are many things worse than computers deciding they're gonna do a thing and costing you all your progress... I had to change my settings to forbid my computer from automatically updating because it's old and can't handle the latest updates any more. But I still have to save often in case of the occasional random crash. Very aggravating.

Even so I generally use forums for human interaction, I can't say I get all that much of it here tbh--but more than I would elsewhere, and people here for the most part are pretty friendly, unlike a lot of other places. It also gives me something to do, read, or look at in my down time. If nobody's around to talk to (or there's nothing of interest being said), I can play around with the avatars. Sometimes I come here just to chill; putting some music on and tooling around with the avatar stuff is pretty relaxing. Then if I want to check around and see if there's any interesting discussion going on, I can. Sometimes I just browse for threads where people are sharing stuff like art or stories and look at those. And when I do have something I want to share with people or talk about, I can usually bring it here and at least hope for a little bit of a response.
Mostly, I guess it's just a familiar environment since I started going on avatar sites a long time ago and never completely outgrew them. I do feel like I'm a little old for it sometimes, with all the cutesy images and items and whatnot (and all the alternatives being geared more toward that edgy teen audience), which is also partly why I'm not as active on sites like this as I used to be.

@vengeance: lucky D:
Black Forest is just one of those places I really wanna see for myself. Might be the most beautiful and magical place on earth, or certainly one of them. I grew up with fairy tales, so a mysterious forest is right up my alley. Most places around the world I'm content to see in pictures and video, but this is one of the few I feel I need to appreciate in person if I ever get the chance. A visit to Germany in general is in order; there are quite a few things on my "to see/do" list there, but the forest is at the top.
@Another Movie Addict: Sounds like fun. I probably could have had the opportunity years ago, but shied away from it for "personal reasons". I'd be much more willing to try now, but of course now I have "real jobs" to worry about. So it'll be a balancing act that depends on what my obligations and opportunities look like around that time of year in the future, I guess.

My list is long and mostly incomplete. I don't doubt that much of it will probably never get done, but there's hope for at least some.
and I'm gonna stop there before I make myself more depressed. :^)
-Have an article of clothing custom made for me: Done
-See Ozzy live: Not done, most recent tour got postponed until next year, making for two failed attempts so far. Still holding out hope for the new date.
-Have my own home: Not done. Tried, failed, repeat. Still trying.
-Go to Las Vegas: Done
-Go to Disney: Done
-Visit the Black Forest: Not done, will take a lot of time and money and planning.
-Get my name changed: Not done, will have to work on it when I have more time and money and actually decide on a middle name.
-Take my SO to the fair: Not done, will probably have to wait until next year or later due to time constraints and location.
-Get a tattoo: Done, but will require more.
-Try clown makeup: Not done, maybe next Halloween
-Get a didgeridoo: Not done, but easy enough to do when I have more money and space
-Visit the Australia Zoo: Not done, will take a lot of time and money and planning.
-Learn to play the banjo: Not done, but (slowly) working on it
-Work in a haunted attraction: Not done, maybe someday
-Get married: Done. Now waiting for the chance to get divorced.
-Own my own business: Not done, will have to wait until I get on my feet.
-Adopt a kid: Not done, will have to wait until I get on my feet.
-Tell my family what I think of them and hold them responsible for their actions for the whole extended family to see: Not done, will have to wait until I get on my feet.

@Wildfire: The easiest for me are questions that can be answered by pretty much anyone, like "What kind of ____ do you like best" or "what do you think about X situation". I like to come into an open discussion, leave my personal experiences, and let anyone who shares or has interest in those experiences say so for themselves. Likewise, if I see someone else's post that I can relate to or have a question about, I will respond to that and hopefully initiate a conversation within the topic. The more specific a thread's topic is, the less likely I am to respond because the less likely it will be to apply to me. My personal interests don't seem to align with those of most people I come across, so ymmv on that one.
But to be more specific, topics that usually catch my interest (in no particular order) are:
My online presence varies a lot, as my work and other real-life commitments may change from day to day. Usually, though, I'm only online at night when no one else seems to be on, or very briefly in the morning when I don't really have time to contribute and just want to browse. And I can never seem to keep up a conversation for more than a few responses before either losing track of it or running out of meaningful things to say... but I try to be active when and where I can.
But to be more specific, topics that usually catch my interest (in no particular order) are:
-gender and/or sexuality
-original characters
-writing and/or role-playing
-healthy/natural living
-animals (reptiles, invertebrates, cats, and pigs are my favorites)
-plants and mushrooms
-experiences with religion or religious groups/people
-experiences working in retail
-horror
-halloween
-magic
-food
-and pretty much any experience or interest that I find I can relate to, as there are many

All the things you listed are good topics. I hate mindless "how r u/good/good/how r u" but I'll talk about anything as long as it interests me or I have something relevant to say.
