".....wow." Levi muttered.

"Someone does NOT want people to get in here." he said.

He then tried the door, only to find it stuck.

"Ngh... damn it." he cursed.

"Uh... can YOU get it, Roxie?" he asked the demon.

"I.... can't."

Roxie was silent before stepping up, curious and looking it over. After a few seconds she sighed before grabbing the handle and trying to open it. There was no movement, asidefrom a bit of a creak.

"It really is." She commented before putting some real effort into it. As she did so, Levi could see a bit of a more demonic form - that was still quite sexy, of course - overlaying the figure and form she currently had. It took a few seconds, possibly up to a minute, before she managed to open it. It swung inward, a bit. Not much, but a bit.

"Can you squeeze in there?" She asked, looking over to Levi, her voice curious.

Levi looked at her, then at the door.

"Yeah, I think so." he said.

He then stepped up and pressed himself into the gap that had been made, forcing himself to squeeze through it. He barely managed to do it, before seeing that a large trunk had been placed against the door to keep it shut.

"Geez." he muttered.

He then grabbed it and started to pull at it, the trunk moving ever so slightly, centimetre by centimetre.

"Let me know... when you can... get through..." he said to Roxie in a strained voice.

Roxie just sighed.

"Stop." Was all she said before laying her hand on the door and carefully squeezing through. It wasn't the most comfortable, but it wasn't hard for her to get her lithe bodythrough the gap.

"If you could fit, so could I." She added with a light laugh.

"Anyhow... wow. This... place is..." she paused, looking around.

"I can't really make sense of the darkness here. It's so oppressive."

"....oh, right." Levi said, feeling VERY sheepish now.

He then looked into the darkness, and sighed.

"....and I can." he told her.

"Sometimes I really hate that I can, but right now, it's a blessing." he muttered.

He then started to move forward, extending his hand out.

"Come on." he said.

"I can sense where she is now."

Roxie nodded.

"Let's go." was all she said.

"There's just... this shit is above me and my type of being." She added.

They were walking for nearly twenty minutes (with about half of it being lost) before Roxie stopped and looked to the floor beanth her feet.

".. .. She's right below me." She commented.

Levi looked down, and paused for a moment.

He then looked around, before seeing a door. He walked over, and looked through the window on it.

"Stairs." he said.

"Odds are if we take them, we'll end up where she is." he told her.

"Unless you want to take a more... direct approach."

Roxie sighed.

"I... direct is preferable, but I don't think it's the smartest." She admitted.

"so we'll take the stairs." She added.

"Let's go."

"Got it." Levi replied.

The two of them hastily made their way down the stairs, taking a turn when they exited them, and stopped to look around.

"...there's... nothing here...?" Levi muttered.

He then shook his head and moved forward.

"I can see the room she's in." he told Roxie.

"The mana is threatening to practically seep out from the room." he muttered.

Roxie didn't say anything before following him, entering the room without hesitation with him.

As soon as they were in there though, they both realised what they were in for.

The lighting was... well, not light. It was the mana that was coming from Rebecca, from them that had an ethereal glow. But they couldn't find her in the darkness.

"Dammit. Can you get a read on where she is?" Roxie asked as she tried to navigate the black room.

She received no response from Levi. Not at first, anyway.

She heard him moving forward, though.

"Becca?" he said.

"Becca, it's Levi." he said further.

"Come on, keep fighting, I know you can do it." he went on.

"Focus on me. I'm here to help." he continued.

However, every time he spoke, Roxie swore she heard whispers underneath his words. Whispers of a language she didn't understand, but unnerved her, nonetheless.

"I really want out of here." Roxie muttered before pulling her mobile out of her pocket and trying the flash on that, wondering if that would offer any luck.

Sadly, no dice. The light that was emitted was almost immediately swallowed by the darkness again, and it didn't take long - a matter of seconds, really - before her phone burst into pure black flames. She dropped it with a cry of pain, and a curse.

It was about then that they heard something neither wanted to hear.

the door slamming shut behind them.

"What the!?" Levi exclaimed, looking back in the direction of the door.

"...I didn't think anyone would find this place." Liam muttered.

"No matter." he then said.

"You two will perish in there." he went on.

"Lambs to the slaughter, as it were." he chuckled.

"Once the girl has become the perfect vessel, it will all be over."

"She ain't perfect." Roxie stated simply.

"Not even a born conduit." She added with a shrug.

"Nor is she human." She continued before sighing.

I... wodner... she thought before reaching up and releasing the leather collar she was wearing. As she did so, she looked far more demonic, but also had full access to her mana; the tendrils spread out almost instantly.

The tendrils were practically dwarfed by the surrounding mana, but they still spread out.

Levi continued to try and reach Becca, as Liam chuckled.

"Heh. You know nothing." he said.

"She IS perfect." he went on.

"She survived the procedure. She IS perfect." he said further.

"You will see."

"Sure thing." was all that Roxie said, mere moments before they heard a cry, barely.

Levi heard it beter, as he was paying more attention to the darkness and to trying to find Rebecca.

He may not have known the cry, but his roommate Alyssa certainly would. It was a cry of the walls starting to break more, and more as they were forucing themselves upon her.

Levi didn't know the cry, but he DID know it meant trouble.

He rushed to where he'd heard it, not caring about the danger, and found Rebecca, placing his hands on her shoulders.

"Becca!" he exclaimed.

"Becca, it's me, Levi!" he said.

"Holt it together!" he went on.

"I'm here! Remember what I said! Distance yourself! Focus on ME! And my voice!" he continued.

Meanwhile, Liam just laughed.

"The time is nigh!" he declared, though starting to feel oddly drawn to the room for some reason.

Rebecca was silent, but Levi could feel her quivering. Violently, at that.

She didn't say anything, it was very possible that she couldn't at the moment, but he did know that his presence was helping. He could feel them and their presence, and how around her specifically it was getting to be a bit softer. Meaning that they were getting a looser grasp on her, to an extent.

Meanwhile, Roxie didn't move from where she was standing. She knew that Liam was there, and knew that she was reaching him. She wasn't having it be an overbearingly strong effect, if only just because of the fact that she knew that there was a good chance that he could have some sort of protections if he knew about it.

"......" Levi was silent, before sighing.

He then got very close... and gently laid his head against hers.

Becca was a compatible gate for them... but she was an artificial one. She was more fragile, and considered inferior. He, however, was a natural-born one. A FAR more attractive target.

If nothing else, he hoped being so close to her would drive them away from her... and closer to him. Perhaps it would give her the chance to put the barriers back up and keep them at bay.

Liam, however, narrowed his eyes.

"...what are you doing?" he asked.

"What deviousness are you using to make me want to go in there!?" he demanded of those inside.

"I'm merely a damsel in distress here." Roxie answered.

"Getting weaker and weaker in this oppressive mana." She continued, sounding the part.

"Also quite a catch, I might add. Wouldn't you like to see what kind of treasure is in here? And won't my presence interfere with whatever you have going on in here?"
