When Aria had heard the knock on the door, she went with the king and queen to greet the visitors. When Troy came in, Aria smiled and curtseyed to him,"Good morning, Your Highness." She said to him, as her teachers had always taught her,"My name is Aria. It's very nice to meet you."
"Oh I'm sure they will. Two isn't such a big age difference. I'm sure the two have something in common." The queen said and looked around until she saw a very uncomfortable looking Lyle in the corner. "Lyle dear, come say hello." she ordered. Troy smiled down at Aria and took her hand then kissed it politely. "My name is Troy, it's a pleasure to meet you miss Aria." he said, giving her a charming smile. Lyle made his way over and bowed as was custom, "Hello, you must be the prince everyone has been talking about, I'm prince Lyle. It's very nice to finally meet you." he said politely. See? That wasn't too hard. Troy looked at Lyle and smiled, finally letting go of Aria's hand. "They have?" he asked. "Well it's very nice to meet you too. To be honest, my aunt wouldn't stop talking about you and your family. She speaks very highly of you." he admitted. "Oh well she's too kind, such a dear. We're really nothing too special." Lyle's mother said with a giggle.
Aria smiled when he kissed her hand and looked over when Lyle appeared. Aria then turned back to Troy,"Would you like to go for a walk with us along the grounds? We have such beautiful gardens here and they are just lovely this time of year." She said.
Lyle listened to Aria and then looked at his father to save him from this. The king noticed this and walked over, "Excuse us for just a moment." he said and pulled Lyle off to the far side to talk. "What's wrong Lyle?" he asked. "I don't want to go outside. I want to play my piano and drink more coffee." Lyle answered honestly. "You'll be fine. If he asks you a question, just answer it. It's not that hard Lyle and it's not like you'll be out there all day. It's just for a while." The king answered. "Go on now, this is your chance to make a friend." he added. Lyle felt like such a child right now it was embarrassing. Troy watched the king and Lyle talking then turned his attention to Aria. "That sounds lovely actually." he said and motioned towards Lyle. "Is he always like this?" he asked.
Aria smiled gently,"Lyle isn't much of an outside or morning person." She said gently,"When he rejoins us, we can head out. The flowers are just beautiful in the gardens. I like to go and sit out there from time to time and read."
"That must not be fair to you. If you want to go outside, he should be a gentleman and join you. I hope he doesn't let such a lovely lady go out by herself." Troy answered honestly. Lyle frowned but gave in. "Alright..." he said quietly and made his way over to Aria and Troy. "We can go whenever you're ready." he said quietly and looked over at his father who smiled then joined the other adults in the dining room.
Aria smiled as Lyle joined them,"Let's go." She said, walking with the two of them outside. As they walked around outside, Aria was telling Troy about some of the flowers and making conversation with him.
Lyle walked with them, keeping his hands in his pants pockets as he fell silent and listened to them both talk. At least Aria was having fun. Troy smiled as he walked along with them and listened to how passionate Aria was about this. "It sounds to me like you really enjoy flowers. Do you have a favorite?" Troy asked her curiously. She was a lovely girl, maybe he could get her the flower she loved.
Aria smiled,"I love all kinds of flowers." She said, looking around the gardens,"I helped plant a lot of these gardens, while growing up. My favorite I guess would have to be roses. Red ones are so pretty."
"Ah, so you're a lover of the classics." Troy said with a smile. Lyle would have rolled his eyes but he knew better than to do that. Instead he just looked at the gardens and wondered what the adults were talking about. Probably nothing interesting. Troy then bent down and plucked a red rose before handing it over to Aria. "For you, my lady." he said politely. This caused Lyle to look and he wasn't too happy with what he saw. He wasn't stupid, Troy was clearly trying to win over Aria.
Aria looked a bit surprised, but smiled,"Thank you so much." She said, taking it from him,"This is very kind of you." She wasn't thinking anything other then he was being friendly.
Wow, she had accepted the rose?! Okay now he was hurt and angry. She was basically giving Troy the okay to keep going. He couldn't let this continue, but he didn't want to be rude either, it woudln't end well if he did. He had to deal with this for now. "Anything for a lovely lady such as yourself." Troy answered and placed his hands behind his back as they continued walking. "So you've lived here all your life?" he asked her.
Aria was about to answer when she had noticed the hurt and angry look in Lyle's eyes,"Um... Troy, can you excuse us for a moment?" She asked, having him sit on a bench near some beautiful hydrangea before gently taking Lyle's arm and taking him out of earshot,"What's wrong?" She asked him softly,"Are you ready to go back inside? We can whenever you like you know." She soon started to wonder,"Lyle... your not.... jealous are you?"
Troy looked surprised but nodded, "Of course." he said and bowed politely then sat down and picked up one of the hydrangeas. Lyle blinked as he was pulled away and looked at Aria. "What's wrong?" he repeated, not sure what she was getting at. Then she asked if he was ready to go inside and he crossed his arms across his chest. "I was ready to go inside the moment I stepped outside. You're having fun though, that's what matters to me." he answered then blushed at her accusation and looked away. "Me? Jealous of that guy? No way! I have nothing to be jealous about....nothing at all. Come on, let's keep walking. It's rude to keep a guest waiting."
Aria listened to his words and nodded,"You are right, you have no reason to be jealous. You already know my heart belongs to you and it always will. I only accepted this rose to be polite." She said,"So... please.... If that is what you are hurt about, please know all I will ever see him as is a friend." She gently kissed his cheek, wanting to prove her point that she would always love him and to show him she loved him
"Exactly, I know all this already." Lyle said quietly. He would have kept talking to her but he didn't want to be rude to Troy. After all, they were supposed to be showing him around the place. "We can talk later." he said softly and walked off to look at other flowers. He never understood why females liked flowers so much. Even Claudette loved flowers, so did his mother. Every female he had met loved flowers. "Weird.." he said to himself and lightly ran his fingers along the petals of a pink chrysanthemum.
Aria felt awful. Great. Just after things had been fixed. She went back over to Troy," Sorry about that." She said,"Ready to see more?" She asked, putting on a fake smile and going back to acting like things were just wonderful.
Troy noticed the look on her face and stood up. "What's wrong miss Aria?" he asked. Lyle knelt down and carefully plucked out the Chrysanthemum, figuring he'd give it to Aria or maybe his mother. It had been a very long time since he had surprised his mother with a flower. Hopefully she would like it. He didn't know what flower was his mother's favorite but this one smelled really sweet.
"Nothing." Aria smiled,"Nothing at all." She started over to another large part of the garden, telling Troy about some of the flowers there. She saw Lyle had gotten a flower and thought it was sweet he picked it for the queen. She knew she would love it since it was from him.
After showing Troy all of the gardens, Aria smiled,"Lyle is just brilliant at playing the piano." She said as they sat on a bench by a water fountain. She looked over at Lyle,"Would you like to go inside and show how well you play?" She asked

Troy didn't believe her but he didn't want to push it. He didn't know her, so he had no right to ask such questions. He followed Aria over to a different part of the garden and looked around, "It's beautiful here. You must really enjoy spending some time out here." he said to her and looked over at her. Hearing what she said, he tilted his head to the side and looked at Lyle who looked over at Aria when she spoke. "You play?" he asked him. Lyle looked at Troy and nodded slowly. "I do." he answered. "I...I don't know Aria. Prince Troy is enjoying his time out here. I don't want to cut it short." Lyle answered. Troy shook his head. "Show me." he said simply. Lyle blinked in surprise and looked at Troy. "You want me to...play for you?" he asked. Troy smiled and nodded. "I'd love to hear you."
