"And I can mana you there, sure." he offered.

"You flying back or contacting me to pick you up and bring you back?" he then asked.

"But this will cut down a lot of time." she added.

"So yeah, thanks. I'll let you know when I'm good - shouldn't be too long."

"Gotcha." Ash responded.

He then thought for a moment, before nodding to himself.

"If you need me, I'll be upstairs in the kitchen." he told her, making his way to the door.

"Gonna get started on the prep work." he reasoned.

"Should have it ready by tonight, actually." he then said, thinking about it.

"Mmmm... tomorrow." he corrected himself. "I'll let the sauce have time to REALLY come together and heat up."

"Well, I liekyl won't be back before tomorrow, regardless." Ashleigh commented.

"So if it takes til then, that5's perfectly fine." She added after a moment or two.

"Give me ten and then send me. Lemme get what I need collected." She then said before heading off to do just that.

"Right then." he said.

"I need to get that started." he said to himself.

"And prepare for tomorrow." he went on.

"...we'll see how she does with that blindfold." he then mumbled, as he made his way to the kitchen.

"Blind fighting IS a good skill to have, but she may be rushing it..."

Sure enough, Alice arrived back there when expected. She appeared in the backyard and looked around, wondering where her brother was. She had some bruises, but overall, it really wasn't too bad at all. She had no issues with continuing again today, as she realised she didn't really need to worry about it.

The question, was finding him.

He was in the kitchen, getting a pack of things - snacks, water, etc - together when she knocked on the door and stepped in. She was silent, but waved to say hello once he looked up at her.

"Hey." he said.

"Good timing, I'm just about finished here." he told her.

"Change into your workout clothing, and by the time you're done, I'll be outside and ready for you." he said further.

Alice nodded and headed off to do just that, questioning why the hell she didn't do it before leaving, as she had actually intended to. This was the first time she was bringing it, after all.

About ten minutes later, she made her way back to where he was.

"I'm good."

"Good." Ash responded, having set everything down by the picnic table.

"Now, yesterday was pretty much a pedal-to-the-metal test run." he told her. "This session will take longer, with a few breaks in between." he continued. "I know where your strengths and weaknesses are, so we'll focus on the weaknesses first to bring them up, and then try to keep an even spread as we go along." he explained further.

"Let's work on some basic fighting techniques first." he then said.

And so they did. She trained with him for about 4 hours, before he stopped her and they went over to the picnic table.

"For the last bit of this..." he said, as they grabbed drinks. "...we'll try it with you blindfolded, as you asked last time." he told her.

"We'll see just how good you are at blind fighting."

Alice nodded.

"Yeah, of course."

"I did say it'd be a good idea, so might as well try. Just... don't do too much damage." She said with a light laugh.

"I am expecting to be beaten on pretty solidly."

"Right." Ash responded.

With that, they finished their break and made their way back to where they'd been fighting. He handed her a blindfold and she put it on, making sure it was snug and wouldn't fall off.

The first thing Ash did was dash and dance around her to try and see what her awareness was like, and he was surprised to see it was decent. Better than he would have expected it to be, anyway.

They continued to spar for the next 40 minutes or so, before Ash stopped, and addressed her.

"That's enough." he said.

"I've seen enough. Not bad. But blind fighting will be further down the road."

"Why not keep going with what I'm weakest at. In theory, that'll help boost the rest too." She commented as she stretched her back up tall.

"Because, really? That'd likely be a good idea, but that's just my opinion."

"I DO see your point." he said.

"That being said, it's not as though ALL of your training will now be blindfolded." he stressed.

"Basics are not to be neglected." he insisted further.

"However, I think we'll be able to dedicate a little time each session to some blindfolded training."

"Indeed." Ash responded.

"However, I need to stress, I can't put my life on hold for this." he told her. "At some point, I'm going to have to return to hunts and such, but for when we cannot meet as often, I'll prepare some exercises and training for you to do, just to help strengthen your senses and such, as well as your reflexes and body." he went on.

"Think of it as training between training." he laughed.

Ash returned home from the guild, appearing in the den, wearing a sleeveless shirt, his upper torso and right shoulder clearly wrapped in bandages. He looked around, and was surprised to see Vicki sitting on one of the couches there.

"Eh? Vicki?" he said.

"What are you doing here?" he asked her.

"Who was Cedric?" Vicki asked from where she sat. She was calm, looked a bit stressed, but calm.

"Seriously... who was he?" She asked, missing the twitch from him.

"I can't get it out of my head, and I know you were involved in his death, and just... why am I plagued like this? Who was he? Maybe that will help..."

Ash... froze in place when she said that, a shocked and horrified expression on his face illuminated by the full moon that shone in through the open window. Like a deer caught in headlights.

His pupils shrank a little, and he started to sweat a little heavily as well, before he swallowed. Hard.

"Ah..." he stammered.

"What...? I mean, that's... What do...?" he started to stammered, before he just heaved a heavy sigh, and slumped forward some.

"....k, then." he said.

"I'm gonna sit, and you're gonna hear a story." he told her.

"But how do you even know of him in the first place?" he asked.

Ash just sat down in one of the chairs, and shook his head.

"Well, to make a VERY long story short, I did it to protect the world and the future." he told her.

"For a little more information, when I was sealed away because of my degenerative disorder, I took a bit of a time travel trip, to where Cedric was in the middle of causing the end of the world." he then said.

"So... I was given the task to take him out of the equation." he continued.

"BEFORE he could start his plans."

"That... makes sense." She commented.

"... at least it was for a ood cause, or reason." She added. "I figured it would be... but at least there's taht."
